Journalist: How long have you worked for Samaraneftegaz and what positions have you held there?
Pavel Anisimov: I have worked for Samaraneftegaz, former Kuybyshevneft, for more than 35 years.
I began as assistant drill operator and went all the way up to general director, CEO.
Journalist: Can you comment on the difference in the prices of oil sold by Samaraneftegaz and…?
Pavel Anisimov: I cannot comment on anything now.
Journalist: Have you heard anything about the group with creating which Mikhail Borisovich is charged, one that existed in Yukos?
Pavel Anisimov: I don’t know what a criminal group that is; there is much talk about that, but I have not heard anything about it.
Journalist: Has Mikhail Borisovich Khodorkovsky ever instructed you to do anything illegal?
Pavel Anisimov: No, of course, not.
Journalist: Could oil be embezzled from Samaraneftegaz after all?
Pavel Anisimov: As I see it, no. I have testified to that effect. Every person sees it his way and sees how it may be interpreted.
Therefore, I don’t know. I think that this is impossible.
Journalist: Did Khodorkovsky want to create a transparent oil company or something else?
Pavel Anisimov: An absolutely transparent company – that was a secret for no one.
And a transparent company was being created.
Journalist: Could you characterize Mikhail Borisovich [Khodorkovsky]?
Pavel Anisimov: Well, he is a man of integrity and a respected person.
As a manager, he is strict and exacting, but his integrity is above all.
Journalist: Pavel Alekseyevich, how did you like the behavior of the prosecutors at today’s interrogation?
Pavel Anisimov: May I pass this question? This is a painful topic for me, as I have passed through this stage at one time
and, therefore, would like not to touch this topic.
Journalist: Excuse my asking: Are you not afraid of any consequences after your coming to testify?
Pavel Anisimov: Everything is possible in our life. It is for something that there is a saying:
never think that you will not find yourself in prison or begging. I have experienced that personally.
What I was once awarded for later served as grounds to put me behind bars. In our life, everything is possible.
