So, funny thing is, I can't actually recall where this idea came from.
I just remember wanting to draw two best friends who were in true love
even if they didn't quite know it yet
Why choose a frog and an axolotl?
These are both strange creatures that easily found themselves outcasted by others
Frogs are "gross and slimy" and "spread disease"
Axolotls are "freaks of nature", playing in the mud and never growing right
Children can be very cruel sometimes, unfortunately
These two individuals, both outcast from normal society, looked deeper into each other and forged a bond
They love each other for who they are, not what they are
These two are simply enjoying some dancing together, nothing particularly special
However, it is during this dance that he realizes his true feelings for her run deeper than friendship
Of course, being an awkward adolescent, he doesn't voice his feelings to her
At least, not at first
Years later, on the eve of their high school graduation, he finally confessed his love for her
On the quiet evening seated on a couch together, he finally confesses his love for her, before waiting in apprehension for her response...
Silence.
Then she smiles at him
Funny thing; she was about to do the same exact thing
From that moment on they were a couple, inseparable
They married upon finishing college
Come rain or shine, hail or high water
They would face life together
Till' death do them part
And ever after that
A shared lifetime, full of experiences like these
and this is but one of many moments
