I chose Manchester because I just got a really good feeling about it, right from the interview.
The presentation was really appealing and the city's great, it's got everything that
you could need. My first impressions of Manchester so far have been really good, everyone's really
friendly, all the staff in Manchester are are really nice.
I think when I first came in this morning, I was really nervous about what the workload would be like and
not thinking would I even get much support but I've spoken to some of the lecturers today
and some of the students who are on the course as well and they've been like 'oh, you do
get a lot of support so don't worry too much about it' so I feel a little bit less nervous
about it now. I'm worried, initially, about the work that we have to do because it's a
huge amount, I've heard. But I'm sure after like a few weeks, it'll become easily manageable.
In the welcome week, I've found it very enjoyable so far, there's tons to do, it's like kind
of daunting in a way. It's only been our second day, so we've met a few people; we have a
really good Facebook page that we met a lot of people from. I've been to the Fresher's
Fair, got bombarded by lots of things but yeah, there's always plenty to do so it's
a new experience, bit overwhelmed now but I'll settle in soon. There's always something
going on, you can hear, there's always a commotion of people doing something and the halls are
very nice and lovely to live in. The city's really great. I mean, I'm not missing home
in London at all at the moment. It's got a lot of facilities. I love the student care
in this university, I think it's super great.
