Though it is always recommended that you use a qualified fitter to install your fireplace,
self installation it can be accomplished by following a few simple steps.
Firstly, always ensure your site is clear, with your chimney smoke tested.
Next, lay the hearth using a spirit level to ensure it is parallel to the floor. If
the hearth is not level simply use a little cement or sand to straighten it out. Also
be sure to check the intensity of your intended fuel source. Higher temperatures will require
you to split the heath into three, separating each piece with ballast.
Once in place, measure the frieze, and position the legs where you want them before gluing
the legs to the wall. You may also add a screw for improved support before gluing the mantel
shelf to the top of the installed frieze.
