If you do the right thing, you encourage people around you to do the right thing as well.

The idea of the Peace Centre was coined around 1990-1991 by several friends who were worried,
seeing that occupation and the division of the two communities was ongoing.
We feel that something should happen to make things change.
Our activities are educational. We try to promote a peace culture to society.
During the 1990s we took the initiative to introduce
a scientific approach to the analysis of the Cyprus problem.
You should visualize this as experimental learning.
There is nobody there to guide you how to think.
It is merely a dialogue, a system of skills transmission, about how to talk and how to listen.
It is not as easy as it sounds.
It is a very internal process that will enable you to change who you are.
It is an attempt to acknowledge the situation of the other
and an attempt for the notion of integration to be accepted.
We, the different people and different groups of Cyprus should feel that
we belong to the same group with common interests.
This is something that the society does not yet accept.
People see peace moves as submission to the enemy.
Nevertheless, peace is not this at all. It is something totally different.
Through peace you realize that there are many to blame for the current situation.
It is both ours’ and the others’ fault.
A way should be found to remember the past and forgive.
We should realize that this is the way to move society forward.
We should find a way not to repeat the same mistakes
which have caused such destruction and human casualties in the past.
