hi everyone and welcome back today we're taking a quick look at Artanis who is
one of my favorite heroes in heroes of the storm Artanis is a front-line
warrior and his main focus is his trait shield overload this trait gives him a
substantial shield for about five seconds if his health goes below 75%
each basic attack lowers the cool down by 4 seconds or 6 seconds depending on
the talents that you take and so you always want to be hitting stuff so
basically we can take this entire video and condense down to this how to play
Artanis - hit all the things now with the cool down of 24 seconds on this trait and
an attack speed of one tick per second your trait becomes available every 5
seconds if you're consistently hitting stuff your abilities can reduce it down
even faster but only if you use them at the right time - blade dash for example reduces
the coold own by 1 second for every enemy hit like minions mercenaries and
stuff like that and then two seconds for heroes so since you'll always be hitting
these groups twice you're actually looking at reducing your cooldown by 2
to 4 seconds per enemy hit twin blades which is another one of your talents
causes your next basic attack to charge a short distance in a hidden enemy twice
or thrice giving you another 10 to 15 second reduction on that cooldown now
when one of his more interesting skills with phase prism this is a skill shot that
makes you switch places with an enemy so this is really good for like
chasing down heroes or disrupting the backline things like that
and when paired with blade dash you can dash forward phase prisms and then
you'll swap places with the enemy at the time of contact so if you're already on
your way back when the little prism thing actually hits the enemy they will
switch back to that location that means that you can pull an enemy healer or
squishy damage dealer out from behind their protection and your team can then
quickly dispose of them
and at the same time your shield should keep you alive long enough to continue
damaging the enemy team after you've made that swap you may want to cast your
heroic ability at the same time nor to blind enemy heroes that way you take
less damage or at least for the four seconds that it's effective now some
interesting members here minions come in packs of six right so you could can
blade dash into a group and if you're able to hit them twice your cooldown is
going to be reduced by 12 seconds or about 50% then if you use your twin
blades you can actually knock off another 10 seconds
leaving you with only a 2 second cooldown now that's the ideal situation if you need
to get that cooldown reset immediately now this is something important to keep in
mind whenever you're performing a swap since you want to switch with an enemy
that's going to put you in a location where you can then use your blade dash and
hit that group of enemies and that will then greatly reduce your cooldowns and
we're using cooldowns means you know reducing death so we like doing that and in my
opinion this is what makes Artanis such a fun hero to play you're able to
really disrupt the enemy team do some respectable damage and the runners are
using your abilities correctly you can actually survive most of the mistakes
that you make if you need to kill in our tennis and your best bet is to use a
hero with heavy crowd control like stones and polymorphs so that will
prevent him from attacking from using his talents which means that he can't
get his shields back as quickly also Varian's shattering throw which does
extra damage to shielded enemies really hurts so you are going way that as
much as possible heroes that pair very well with Artanis who want to give
him more shields like Zarya and Tassadar especially if the Tass takes the talent
that increases attack speed for shielded allies that would give him more
survivability without bring him up out of his shield range and so his shields
will remain consistently active and that means that you'll be able to
continually maintain your shields while not dying other heroes that work really
well within where heroes that can dish out a lot of damage on displaced enemies
so like the butcher so if you were to grab an enemy like Malthael and
you swap places with them and bring them back into the middle of your
team you want someone that's going to be able to just break them apart right
there and The Butcher is pretty good at that I'm attaching a couple of Artanis build
videos to the endcard so if you want to see them in action just pick the one
you want to see but before you leave please consider giving this video I like
and sharing it on Facebook or Twitter or or whatever it is that people
use these days and if this is your first time here we make tutorial and guide
videos like this every week so it subscribing keeps you up-to-date on your
favorite Blizzard games my name is Triston from lava dragons have a great
