Good morning and happy Labor Day. This is LeeAnn Allegretto coming to you from the
National Weather Service in Missoula
To begin today,
we are expecting a disturbance to bring the chance for showers and thunderstorms
later this afternoon and this evening
already this morning a line of showers has formed over central Idaho and across
the Idaho Panhandle
but are so parts remain somewhat stationary throughout the night
it hasn't moved very far and idaho or into Western
my yet us so we are expecting this line to move
eastward throughout the day an impact the restive western Montana
however right now at this time the lower levels of the atmosphere are actually
quite dry still
so it may take a little longer for the rain to actually fall
on as the lower atmosphere will need a voice not
before this can actually happen cell on the map here
by the time it's all said and done throughout today i've circled the area
ok central idaho an extreme northwest Montana where there exists the best
chance
for wedding rings by later this evening so for Tuesday
moisture will actually increase even further tonight and through the day
Tuesday
some showers and thunderstorms are likely to produce brief but very heavy
rainfall
which is both good and bad news the good news is its increase moisture in the
form of higher humidity
as well as widespread high chances for wedding rings across-the-board
are the bad news is what with that I'm
intense rainfall from storms that fall over newly-formed wildfire burn scars
could easily
experience in flash flooding issues on but one thing is very certain
there will be widespread high chances for wedding rings
and then once again things get tricky as we
looking to the future as we look into the weekend time period we are still
waiting for this
ever pesky clothes low pressure system that continues to idol of the pacific
northwest coast to make its way inland finally
our patients may pay off though are beginning this Friday
as the low is expected to shift a land at that time by Saturday low should be
across the eastern Washington
with rainfall spreading across the northern rockies through Sunday
now these are just rough time frames but forecast models have become more
consistent with the timing of this thing
I one thing is of concern though there is the chance that this dry slot circled
in the red circle here
are could form anywhere
right now in this picture it's depicted over central Montana but several other
forecast models place this trust light
over western Montana and other forecast lost place over Eastern Washington
so confidence is still pretty low in determining
cool see the precipitation and for how long
and who will get the most but once again also be continued on Thursdays breaching
so with that I'll wrap sprucing up for this morning and wish you all a very
happy Labor Day
and thanks for tuning in
