In this clip we're going to talk about how to become a state trooper. State troopers
are a very unique position because of what you do and I'll get into that in just a second.
But what you want to do if you're interested in becoming a state trooper is, again, go
to your local state, pull up the information on a state trooper, see if you meet the normal
qualifications. Nineteen years of age, a high school education and diploma or GED, college
credit hours, must be in good physical shape, and be prepared to take an entry level exam
which will get you into the next level. Once you've completed that, then there's other
phases of the application that you must take and pass. You must take a polygraph, a psychological
exam, also an eye exam, and I can't stress how physically fit you must be because it's
a very grueling twenty-six weeks of training at the Highway Patrol Training Academy in
our state of Florida anyway. I can't talk for other states. And you have to be both
smart, because academic wise you're required to pass all the exams. You must also be in
great physical shape.
