People have passed out. Tattoos. Pictures of me like on their arm.
TP? You guys don't TP? No.
Hey, I was thinking of you, so I thought I'd toilet paper your house.
Jennette, welcome to the UK. Thank you! It's good to meet you. So, we're here to talk about
Sam and Cat. Now, you play Sam in the show, who is a very cool character. Are you really
like that in reality?
I think I'm a lot like Sam. I have three older brothers, so I'm definitely sort of more a
tom boy than girly, and I definitely, certainly have my sarcastic undertones or overtones
I should say. But I think, I think if anything Sam's more confident than I am in some ways.
And in the show, because you come from iCarly, you're already a celeb. Um, and there's this
very awkward moment where one of the guys wants a lock of your hair to sell on eBay
in the first episode, which is kind of crazy.
I forgot about that.
I've just watched it, so um... What would you say is the craziest thing a fan has ever
done? Anything similar?
I've had... People have passed out, which is always weird. I don't know what I'm supposed
to do. I'll be like ah, can I help? Or something to the kids' parents or whatever. Um, tattoos.
There's people who have pictures of me on their arms and stuff, but one person it's
like this hilarious picture of me... It was like my headshot when I was 12 years old.
My hair's like not brushed, and I have my hair in pigtails, looking completely like
an unnatural child actor.
The face. Do you that a bit weird, though? I mean, does it even look you?
It does look like me. It looks a little too much like me for my liking. But it is, it's
very sweet. I mean, it's not... Maybe a little, I would say weird, but I feel like, I mean
that's something that's very kind of a person to want me to be with them in that capacity
for so long.
And obviously, like I said, you came from iCarly. How different is it acting in Sam
and Cat?
It's similar because we have our same. It's sort of similar in the way of the environment.
Like we're working on the same sound stage. We work with the same crew. Some of our writers
have kind of bled over from the iCarly group, which is great because that keeps some similarities
in tone. But at the same time, it's different enough to where there's a distinct... I think
Sam and Cat has a distinct voice. I think it's its own thing. It's definitely separate
from iCarly. It's got its own voice, so it's a nice mix of the good that was iCarly has
been brought over, but it's also established its new little self.
And obviously acting alongside the gorgeous Ariana as well. One of your best friends,
I believe. So what's it like working together?
It's so great. We have eye conversations in the middle of scenes. We're able to completely.
You know, we can tell where we're each going with something. We play off of each other
really well in front of the camera I should say, when we're acting and stuff. If she does
a joke a certain way, we just kind of feed off of each other and we change it up and
try to keep it fresh. We keep each other on our toes, as well, which is very fun. Like
we try new things all the time, and it's never boring. I think there's never a dull moment
between the two of us. We try to keep it fun for each other. And then, of course, behind
the scenes, it's so fun as well. We just, we're able to talk and share stories all day
long and give each other advice and kind of help each other through, navigating these
years of our lives.
She's a very goofy character. Yeah. In the show. What would you say is the goofiest thing
that she's done, and maybe the goofiest thing that you've done as well?
Something that we did together, actually. We toilet papered our producer's house. One
night, we just piled in our car and she played me a song called Sugarcoated Yeti that she
wrote. It was just like a fun joke song, so that was kind of weird in itself, and then
we went to toilet paper his house. We love doing random things like that.
That would never happen here. I don't think people...
Really?
No, people. What's it called? TPing?
TPing? You guys don't TP?
No.
I hope this sweeps the UK. It is... It's so fun. It's just like, as long as you don't
wet the toilet paper, because sometimes people will get mean with it and they'll like egg
the house and wet it. That means that person is not a fan. But if you're friends with somebody,
you just use dry toilet paper and just kind of show them, hey I was thinking of you, so
I thought I'd toilet paper your house.
Nice! Tell us why we should watch the show Sam and Cat.
You should watch Sam and Cat because it's so much fun making it, and I think that really
comes across in the show and if people enjoy watching it half as much as we enjoy shooting
it, I think they're going to have a great time.
Brilliant. Thank you very much, Jennette.
