Hello everyone.
We are here with a starladder season 7 champion, captain of Natus Vincere.
Hi, Puppey.
Hello.
The question will be quite obvious.
How does it feel to be back here in Arena
after such a long time and become a champion once again?
Of course it feels good.
By the way, We have won this title for the fifth time now.
We have never lost Starladder LAN finals.
And also we missed the finals of two previous seasons.
So yeah, of course it feels good.
How does it feel to beat Alliance who took away the last moment
what seemed your championship title at the International 3.
Does this feel especially good?
Yes. Yes.
Lately you guys have been traveling a lot to different tournaments in Asia,
North America, Europe.
So do you like traveling?
Or it's just something you have to do?
I don't like it because you run out of energy every time you do something
like this and every single trip drains a lot of energy.
As for traveling itself I like it but we don't really have time for anything else but gaming.
All we do is arrive, play and go back. No time for sightseeing.
What's the most unpleasant thing about all these flights and traveling?
Because if you play for navi you might have a bad luck in getting out of the country.
For example, when they wouldn't let you of the airport.
Does this affect you a lot?
Yes. I've been a lot in the situation like this one.
Maybe it's because I'm the only one who lives in Estonia
where we have a very small airport so I'm forced to use connecting flights,
for example in Russia, or Belarus where I would need a visa.
So this is where I might have some difficulties.
Overall most of the Na'Vi fans know that you have a dog now.
How does he live through when you are away for a long time?
He's doing fine. He whines a lot.
Well, he's having a hard time, let's put it this way.
My girlfriend always tell me that he keeps waiting on something and he doesn't know what.
But we all know what he's waiting for.
He's waiting for you to bring home a championship title I think.
So why did you decide to have a dog?
It just happened.
They say that the dogs often look like their owners.
What do you think about it? By the way, what's his name?
Rainer. As in StarCraft. Jim Rainer.
Oh my god, I know no one is interested but I've been wanting for my whole life
to have a bulldog and name him Jim Rainer. Wow.
So do you feel that you guys are alike?
Bulldog and I? No. But him and my girlfriend are.
Interesting.
Another interesting topic. You have a superman in your team. Dendi.
When he's giving out autographs he always signs as Dendi the Superman.
Do you like any super heroes or comics at all?
No. I mean I like superheroes but I'm not into it.
As for Dendi he doesn't think about the superman when he signs an autograph.
Its just for fun. 'Superman! Yeah!'
What if you had a chance to choose a superpower. What would it be?
Gaia.
*both shrug shoulders*
What is it?
Well if you don't know I won't start explaining because it will take forever.
Sounds very mysterious.
How do you think, can you use your superpower in cybersport, for example?
Use your superpowers to win I mean.
Of course.
So you can do anything to win, even if it's prohibited.
So you're playing and all of a sudden *smacks the air*.
Here u go. Bulldog down.
Well, yeah. Sounds like it would work.
It's pretty convenient too.
When you guys have a chance to choose a side on the map, you always choose Radiant.
Not true.
Well, at the International I mean.
Yes, at the International, yes.
So how was it? Did you see yourself as a Radiant Warrior?
And why Radiant?
I don't know. I just like it better. It's greener. Gaia. You know what I'm saying?
No, I don't :)
You guys have been to a lot of LAN tournaments lately.
If you could name TOP-5 tournaments in terms of organizing and everything else.
What would they be?
Of course, it's The International on the first place.
Let me think where else have I been. Dreamhack...
I don't think it would even make in the TOP-5.
What else... Hm... None of the tournaments really stand out comprared to the The International.
Starladder. Well it's pretty simple.
The building is small so it's easy to come in and have a meal for example.
Yeah, I like Starladder. There's just not enough space here.
But I think it would make in the TOP-2.
I REALLY liked the EMS that was held in Poland.
I think everything they will be doing will be great.
We will definitely visit all of their tournaments.
Maybe they be held in the places other than Poland as well.
It's hard to name TOP-5. I can name TOP-3. TI, Starladder, EMS.
ESWC used to be very good. I don't think it's that good anymore. Alienware...
Well it wasn't really a LAN tournament on the stage. We played online.
Well, anyways.
It's nice to know that our Starladder in CIS takes a 2nd place in your rating.
What's the primary things you consider important at the tournament?
A lot of space, and also a fixed schedule so you know when you need to play
so you will not be far away from the building where the tournament is held.
Also the proximity of the hotel is very important.
I wish all tournaments were in the spacious buildings, they were held very close to us
so that we would not have to spend a lot of time getting there and I wish we didn't need a visa to get there.
So the ideal tournament would be held in your hometown
where everyone else would come to your country.
Well, I'm okay with a tournament in Ukraine.
It's quite easy for me to get here because the flight is very short.
But the local traffic is killing me *scoffs* I really don't like it.
I like Germany, Poland, even Sweden where Dreamhack is held.
But Dreamhack is a little bit chaotic.
There's way too much noise.
And it's really hard to find a place to have a meal.
So if not my hometown, Starladder would be ideal.
I wish it was a bigger event too.
You have been a captain of Na'Vi for quite some time now.
How do you think which of your personal features help you
to be the captain and which can become an issue?
I'm lazy. And this is an issue *smiles* I don't know if there are any other features
that might get in the way.
I always keep trying some new strategies and we lose sometimes
because of this but I know it's all for the good because we will learn from our mistakes.
You can invent something new only if you experiment.
I don't even know what features to think of.
What do you think what are those traits of mine?
I don't even know. It's hard for me to say *chuckles*
*voice in the background* You are very stubborn. But this is a good feature.
Puppey: Yeah this is a good one I guess. What else?
*voice in the background* You are a troll.
Puppey: Yes, this works too.
Do you like to be a captain in the real life?
Yes, I do it all the time.
Give us an example.
What's the russian for 'advice'?
*translates for him*
Well, everyday I advise something to my friends.
For me it's the same leadership as being a captain.
I mean talking to people and giving them a piece of advice.
So if it doesn't work, you have to understand why.
*shrugs her shoulders*
So you see yourself as a leader, even in real life, right?
Yes.
I asked about your personal features and something else came to my mind.
Most of the fans know you pretty well as a player but
I don't think they know a lot about your personal life.
What else do you like besides videogames?
I play guitar, walk my dog, hang out with friends. I don't know what else.
I like music. I like composing music and listening to music.
I haven't been to any concerts in a while. I should really go though.
What else do I like?.. To play the video games *smiles*
So what type do you prefer to listen to? and compose?
Pretty much any music with instruments.
I used to play saxophone, flute, now I play guitar.
I don't know if there's anything else.
Oh, wait. I used to play the piano as well.
So you've been doing it since you were little?
Yes.
And does it help at all?
They say Dendi has good invoker skills because he used to play the piano so he has quick fingers.
He's not a piano player.
He's just a no-lifer gamer that's why he's so good with Invoker.
*trolls*
