Shanghai Media Group has presented its first Ultra High-Definition recording, also known
in China as 4K film. The image has four times as many pixels as
current high-definition video. The technique can clearly show details of an insect, or
steam, or fluttering dog hair. The five minute production called "SMG: Fast Forward" shows
how the new medium affects people's lives. It's just a trial and will not be broadcast.
In Britain, the BBC will present a 4K version of the TV series "House of Cards" next year,
and Japan plans to introduce its first 4K TV broadcasting service in July 2014.
