On the 14 August the Egyptian newspaper Elfagr uploaded this video to its YouTube channel.
The footage shows a police vehicle falling off the 6th of October Bridge in the Nasr
City neighborhood of Cairo during clashes between security forces and supporters of
the Muslim Brotherhood.
Elfagr entitled the video "The Brotherhood throw an armoured police vehicle from the
top of a bridge and stand over the bodies of soldiers," and even the Washington Post
reported that the video showed Morsi supporters pushing an armoured police vehicle from the
bridge.
However, a new video has now emerged that reveals the vehicle actually fell from the
bridge after colliding heavily with a bus and then rolling backwards.
This video which can be seen here was posted to YouTube by the Egyptian journalist and
blogger Wael Abbas who says he received it from an anonymous source.
Although people on the bridge can be seen running towards the vehicle in this footage
it is unclear what their intention is. Either way, however, it seems the vehicle was not
thrown or pushed off the bridge by anyone, Morsi or Muslim Brotherhood supporters or
otherwise.
