I left France two years ago to come to an American High School in Folsom
California
and I left in August 2011
and at first, you know when you come to another country and you go to school
it was pretty tough, it was pretty hard for me
people were speaking fast
I could already speak a little bit english but
my english was not as good as all the other people at school
so that was hard, that was really hard the first 3 , 4 months
I had a hard time but you know I started
studying really hard
learning the language
I got through it and
I'm happy that now
I got my diploma
graduation day
that was so far one of the best day of my life
I can't describe it you know, when you wait
you wait 2 years in high school,my junior year and senior year
I've been studying so hard
and getting my GPA, tests and everything
It was just hard you know and when it comes to the end
and you get your name called on the stage and you have to walk to get your diploma, I was so happy
Joshua Oberg
that was the guy in my row just in front of me
the one who was getting his diploma right before me
and I remember it
because when they called his name
my heart started beating so fast , I mean I was next
I was .. I was the next one
it started hitting me you know, i was going to walk and get my diploma in front of a lot of people, my family was there. It's crazy
Then that was it that was my turn, I was next... When I heard my name, and people were shouting for me
That was such an amazing feeling I mean I can't
I can't describe it
walking
you know
going up the stage
I was so happy, one of the best day of my life
That's something that.. I mean you can't forget about a day like this because
you only graduate from high school once and I've been so lucky to be part of it ... Unbelievable story for me
Then you hear the name of one of your friend and you
you scream for him
you get up and you are like all excited
you just forget about everything you're just in the zone
you're so happy to graduate
you're just so excited you shout for everyone
even people that you don't even
you don't even really hangout with them at school, you're just so happy
you're just proud of everyone there cause they did it
In France graduation is important too but it's not even close to graduation in America where we celebrate .. big parties and everything that was different and a good experience for me
Throwing our hats, that was like a movie scene I mean really ?!
I thought I was in a dream or in a movie
people throw their hats in the air
when I was in France
I never thought that would happen to me, throw my hats with all my friends there
uh... that was crazy, when you see
all the hats in the air, everyone screaming , shouting hugging
you know ...
that's something
that's something for sure
I'm really thankful to all the people
people who helped me to achieve this goal, my parents, my family, my uncle, my brothers
teachers
without them i wouldn't be here today
I'm just really thankful
I've been really lucky to have those people
next to me so I just want to
say thank you
i wish the best to all the people who are going to graduate in the future
just keep working hard because it's
it's definitely something you want to
you want to achieve
graduation day that was .. an amazing
that was an amazing feeling
so yeah
uh... please stay tuned
stay tuned for my next video, it's going to be about my summer workouts
everything i'm doing this summer in France
to improve my game and get better you know
so I can get ready
so I can get ready for college
Thanks a lot - Edwin Olympio
