Hey! It's Noah with Bulldog Bites. I'm here with sophomore shortstop Matt Hoge.
Matt, how are you? Matt: I'm good. How are you?
Noah: I'm doing well. Hey Matt, tell us a little about last year's
baseball season. Matt: Basically, we wrapped up getting the
Regional Championship, ended up with a winding record, and an overall successful season.
Noah: How does that success transition to this year's season?
Matt: Definitely wanna get another Regional Championship and you always want a winning
record. We wanna step up and hopefully take what we
did last year and add onto it and win in Districts this year and hopefully end up in Colorado.
Noah: As a sophomore, do you feel like you're one of the natural leaders on the team?
Matt: Yeah. That's a role that Coach Ru asked the sophomores to step into.
You only go as far as your sophomore guys. Our sophomores need to step up and if we're
good, if our sophomores are good, then we're gonna be good.
Noah: The Texas trip is coming up. It's an annual trip.
Tell us a little bit about that and exactly when it is.
Matt: We actually leave Thursday morning. We leave here around 5 o'clock.
Then we stay down for our whole spring break. We play about ten games.
We play some of the top junior colleges in the country.
It's good to get that exposure and get to play those top teams.
We're looking forward to it. Noah: When you play the tougher teams, how
does that help with the team chemistry and team comradery you guys have?
Matt: Basically there's gonna be highs and lows. When we beat a team, we gotta stay together
and stay even-keeled. When we lose we gotta huddle together and
we gotta figure out what we did wrong and come together and fix it and bring t out to
the next day. Noah: Well I hope you guys have a successful
trip. Matt, thanks for being with us. It's a pleasure
and good luck on the season. Matt: I appreciate it.
Noah: No problem. For Bulldog Bites sports, I'm Noah, and we
will see you next time.
