Every so often, I've seen a Minecraft world as a cube. And I thought to myself that this
is just not possible. Unlike Earth, which is a 3D figure, a Minecraft world is flat
and not a cube. Don't believe me? For one, digging straight down in the Minecraft world
will lead you to bedrock. Digging past that will make you fall into the void. There are
no blocks on the other side of bedrock. This means that there is no land or anything on
the bottom side of the world. Another is what is called a wraparound. A wraparound in video
games is when an object leaves one side of the screen and immediately appears on the
other side. If you were to leave from one side of our Earth and go all the way around,
you'll eventually end up where you started because the Earth is round. Sort of like a
video game wraparound. A Minecraft world is infinite meaning it will keep generating blocks
for ever and ever. Assuming you don't fall through the blocks past the 30,000,000 block
limit. If you head out in one direction you will not return to the spot you started from,
meaning a Minecraft world does not "wraparound". Instead of the world looking like this, the
world should instead look like this. This makes the Minecraft world flat and not at
all possibly cubical.
Oh yeah, if Earth was a cube, every direction we would walk would feel like walking on the
side of a mountain getting steeper and steeper. Prepare for one steep journey.
