We can't do anything about the water heater at this point. And ideally we'd swap them
up to front loaders but we're really trying to stay in budget here. A lot of people are
still looking at these old washer and dryer sets. Which are perfectly fine. And I suggest
using them until they die. And we're going to move them over here. So now that three
feet that they're taking here is going to come off this back wall. We're choosing to
take it off this back wall, remember, so we can square up the room and try to make it
give us the maximum square footage we can to live in this room, to function. So washer
and dryer are going to face the front of the house which will actually be quite pleasant
for her. As pleasant as it can be to do laundry. At least she'll have a nice view. A big sunny
window. And then in front of this we're going to put these two about 4 1/2 feet wide large
almost canvases that will slide back into this wall here when she needs to use the washer
and dryer. And when she's not they'll slide like big closet doors but they'll be made
of a fabric that should allow the light to come through to the room. So we're real excited
to see what that's going to look like. We're going to have a little bit of space left here.
I like to think about utilitarian design. We don't want things just to look good. So
here we'll have a folding table for her. Probably a series of shelves for her to house the laundry
detergent and or anything else she might want access to for her laundry. I'm hoping within
the closet system here we'll be able to give her a flip down ironing board. And a built
in plug. So that should make ironing a little more user friendly and efficient. We want
this room to be super efficient for them.
