Welcome to the first Gallaudet University Library book review vlog!
Sheesh. That's a long name.
This is a sample vlog.
Just this past week, I finished a book called "The November Criminals."
It's a pretty interesting book! Funny, too -- it kept me laughing.
The story is about a young man in high school who deals drugs.
He actually likes school, and considers it a challenge.
He competes pretty hotly with other students for the best grades.
Suddenly, another student is murdered.
The main character doesn't know this kid.
They've never met, they're not friends, he knows nothing about his life and family.
But he becomes increasingly obsessed with this person as time goes by.
Why was he murdered and who did it?
So he starts to investigate, and meets a lot of strange people along the way.
Like a hillbilly sort of bum who lives out in the middle of nowhere with a dog that looks mean but is really sweet.
Something sad happens to the dog.
Tsk.
But the book's FUNNY! I really enjoyed reading it.
The book is a little unusual because usually they reveal the killer at the end.
That doesn't happen in this book.
But lives are changed, and competition and school become less important.
I really dug it.
Another reason I enjoyed it is that it all happened here in Washington, DC.
While I read it, I kept coming across streets and restaurants that I know well, which is nice.
It's a neat book and super-engrossing; a good read.
I strongly recommend it!
