Hey David. I'm Andrea from ITN. Lovely to meet you. Getting in uniform today.
Well, I was actually... I actually drove Simon here today in his Rolls Royce Phantom.
Has he demoted you? Already?
He's giving me minimum wage to be his driver. He said I could drive him on a day out shopping.
Well, at least he's still giving you a job.
I'm just happy. I'm grateful for any work I can get now.
Now, what was it like being back with Simon? Did you miss him, David?
I did, actually, because there is a chemistry between us. As much as you might think we
don't like each other, we actually secretly do. We actually love winding each other up.
Simon said, "You're only happy when I'm unhappy." And I said I'm happy when he's happy. And
it's true. We have a very odd relationship. We're like an old married couple really.
Are you going to spoil him on Valentine's Day?
Well, it's Friday. We're going to be here, and we're going to be here until
probably midnight, which is what we normally do. What is it now? It's nearly four o'clock, and we
haven't even started filming the show yet. Kind of crazy.
Flowers, chocolates?
We'll see. I want it to be like Lady and the ***. We'll have a little table, and you
know, we share some spaghetti and the sort of...
I can't wait to see that. Now Aleisha and Amanda told me that apparently, you're not
very happy because Simon is getting funnier.
He is getting funnier. I wouldn't say he's getting funnier. He's getting cockier.
Is he actually getting funnier than you? Is that actually possible?
Well, it's certainly possible, but I don't know if he is. He's certainly answering back
a lot more. He's getting quite cocky.
And I've got to clarify something. I've heard that you saved Simon's life when he choked on a mint.
I regret that.
What happened? Apparently, he was sweating...
He likes to eat during the show. He's always got a sort of satsuma on the go, and he had
a mint and it actually got trapped in his throat, so I had to give him the heimlich maneuver.
Did he give you a pay rise? I mean, that's incredible. Saved the day.
No, he didn't, and I'm sort of thinking back on those moments and thinking maybe it would
have been better to just have let him slip away into the next world.
Now, you're a father yourself, and Simon's going to be a daddy very soon. Have you been
giving him lots of parenting advice?
Um... We have been talking about it, but not specifically. I mean, just to say... The biggest
thing is you don't know what's going to hit you. You don't understand quite how amazing
it's going to be.
