Another 19th century clock that I like to show you today is this schoolhouse clock if
you look closely at it it has some veneer damage which is not unusual for a clock for
this period. This can be repaired but it doesn't bother me it's not enough damage to repair
so I left it the way it was but it's a good size face on this clock. With this small pendulum
on the bottom and I can show you the inside it has the paper label on the inside it's
New Haven, Ct clock company, a little bit of lost of paper but a lot of it is still
there you can make out some of the directions and the company that made it, this is New
Haven, CT clock company that made this clock. And what's nice about this one it comes without
the calender on them but this one in particular has the calender which shows you each day
of the month. And it has a second hand dial and if I open this up you can see it's a medal
dial you can see that these tend to peel away from the enamel, it peels away from the medal
you see some ware on this clock. But fairly good condition for the age so this is a nice
a really nice example of a schoolhouse clock, it rings on the half hour some of them ring
on the hour, half hour but this rings on the hour, so another example of a 19th century
clock for you to look at today.
