Hello and welcome to the BB List's Seller's Guide
To sell an item, Log on to BB List by entering your email address and password.
Then select my BB, Submit a Listing.
By following the step-by-step
on-screen instructions, you will be guided through the process.
As an example, let's sell this Sony HD video recorder.
First click on For Sale
Then enter a title
Enter the asking price and tell us if you're prepared to accept offers
If you have already told us you are VAT registered
and provided your VAT number, that will automatically be added to your
listing. Otherwise your listing will be marked NV
NV means No VAT. Now provide a two-line summary of the item.
Add some extra information to help promote the item.
Select the next button and choose the category
which best matches this item. In this example, we need to select
'Video recorders and Players'-- Your listing will now be submitted for
moderation
BB List staff will check the item description for content suitabliity
for publication. At this stage
you have the option to upload images to illustrate your listing. We recommend
that you provide images because we know listings with images to move quickly
listings without, especially if the item has additional accessories.
Okay let's upload a few images to help illustrate your listing.
Select the ADD button from the image upload tool
and select the image you wish to use, from the relevant folder.
Let's use a picture of the connector panel of this VCR
Potential buyers want to see what the input and output connections are like
Let's show the hours too. The more images you upload the more attractive it will
become to prospective buyers.
And please remember adding images to your listing is free.
on BB List. There's a short tutorial in our video channel which explains
in more detail, how to use the image upload tool. Shortly after uploading images
you should receive notification from BB List that you listing is published.
At this stage not only is your listing live on the web site
but the keywords for the title and the two line description
have been automatically sent to all search engines for optimum rankings.
Now that the listing is live
what happens next in your quest to sell you surplus VTR?
When an enquiry is received by BB List from a prospective buyer
an email will be sent to you. Log on to your 'myBB' section of the website,
select the messages page and reply to any questions,
such as accepting or declining an offer or agreeing to sell at the listed price
In this scenario the asking price has been offered for your Sony VTR.
When you accept the offer you'll be asked to supply the cost and details of shipping
and insurance to the buyer. To help you provide a shipping quote
you will be shown the city and the country to where the item will be shipped.
The shipping cost is usually at the buyers expense
and will need to be agreed to by the buyer as part of the process.
There are two crucial things to remember here.
Firstly tracking. When tracking details are provided
we can conclude the sale promptly. Secondly,
you must adequately insure the goods when they're being shipped.
Remember your acceptance of the offer is not recorded until you provide
shipping details
and cost shipping. You must not
skip this step. Only when you have accepted an offer,
and the buyer has agreed your shipping and insurance quotation, can a sale be
agreed
and a transaction setup At this stage BB List will forward payment instructions
in the form of a Pro Forma Invoice to the buyer
requesting that funds be deposited with BB List into the ring fenced client's
account.
Escrow. When cleared funds have been received
BB List will contact you to request that the items be dispatched
or released for collection. The shipping instructions will arrive in the form of
a PDF attachment to an email
and will contain the buyer's details and shipping address.
Your invoice should be made out using these details
and the item dispatched to the shipping address. These shipping instructions will
always contain the agreed selling price,
shipping costs and, if applicable, VAT
If you are selling to another EU country
and this is an intra EU zero rated VAT sale
the buyer's EU VAT number will be provided.
When arranging shipping
you should always check the item is as described
in your listing. It is also your responsibility to ensure that
all items are adequately and safely packed.
After despatch you must log on to myBB to provide a tracking number,
name of the shipping company and the website address,
if available, for tracking the shipment. BB List staff need this information so we know
when the item is delivered, allowing us to complete the sale promptly.

in your myBB dashboard Finally,
24 hours after delivery, provided all is well with the item,
the sale is completed. An invoice is sent to you for the commission due to BB List
The balance of funds is transferred to your client's accounts to await your
instructions to withdraw the funds to your bank account,
or you may wish to save for buying another item.
