What do you think of the South Beach Diet Phase 1 weight loss results we were told about?
The South Beach diet is probably a good plan if you can’t pass up rolls even after eating
dinner.
I heard that is lowers blood sugar levels and your appetite, improving weight loss.
In phase one, you have to avoid all starches, sugars and alcohol. Can you give up your beer?
If it helps lose the belly fat, yes. A lot of guys would give up beer to lose a beer
belly, too.
You don’t get any bread, even whole grains, until phase 2. Can you handle that?
So I order the burger without the bun. People will think I’m gluten free.
You have to give up fruit, too.
That’s made up for by free pickings of nuts, salads, vegetables, beans, eggs and protein.
I wouldn’t consider all I can eat salad with chicken, ham, cheese and greens compensation
for giving up banana splits.
You get to eat steaks along with the salad.
You’ll have to give up most of your breakfast choices.
But this diet lets me have bacon and eggs! Bacon!
That is probably why it is popular with guys. You can even get a bacon smell generating
alarm clock now.
I like the fact that the diet says to have two snacks a day. You can even get their snack
bars.
OMG, do you know how much those things cost?
Atkins is not cheap, I know. I’ve heard jokes that you lose weight just due to the
cost of the meat.
You can have soy based meat substitutes, too.
Those are almost expensive as the steaks.
I know the diet is popular because you can follow it whether you have thyroid problems
or diabetes. The bigger question is if the rest of us can follow it.
At least it is a heck of an excuse to drive away the vegetarians.
