One day remains until Hone Harawira launches his new party
and preparations have already begun at Te Mahurehure Marae in Auckland.
Roihana Nuri was there earlier.
It's a suburb in Porirua.
It's the name of a magazine.
And its the name of the new Hone Harawira party.
This is the beginning of the party
but it is only one step in a journey that began a long time ago
- a journey of our people attaining self-determination.
Its staunch supporters include activists, greenies,
unionists and entertainers.
Tomorrow, the new political party will be launched
here at Te Mahurehure Marae.
But it is also a big day for ACT tomorrow.
Preparations here at the marae are underway.
I came from Whakatane today to celebrate this launch
of Hone Harawira's political party Mana.
This is the floor of the meeting house today.
Where is my voice...
...to ensure that Maori have an independent voice in Parliament.
At the moment the Maori Party is the Maori voice of the National Party.
Who will lead us...
There is only one leader of this party and that's Hone Harawira.
Roihana Nuri, Te Karere.
