It's supposed to teach students how to use suture, but that's not the only thing
The really important thing important thing is just introduce them
to the field of medicine,
to introduced them to human biology which is part of the mission
of Tri Beta. This year we tried to
ramp it up a little bit, get more doctors try to accommodate more students.
Really make it as successful event as possible.
It also helps the
physicians, a lot of who are alumni, give back to Augustana
who has helped them get to where they are today. - It's always nice seeing young people
who are enthusiastic and interested in learning. Kids that are enthusiastic
can learn very quickly.
They caught on very quickly and
we had a lot of fun.
I was surprised that they had a chance
to learn the more advanced suturing techniques this afternoon.
They were incredible patience as well. I have never had
any kind of experience like that.
it was great to learn the basics and
have a close personal time with them.
Getting the experience and opportunity to learn how to do sutures, and the different types and ways to use them
really benefitted me in the long run.
I would encourage people to come back next year. It's a great
opportunity that Tri Beta puts on and I really enjoyed it.
