Hello again. My name's James Rasmussen and I'd like to introduce you to another one of
my paintings this is called Cozumel Reef. The inspiration for this painting comes from
a visit to Cozumel Mexico, when on my honeymoon and this was many years ago and my wife and
eye went back sometime after that and I was able to do a little snorkelling and cozumel
is one of the top five top three diving spots in th world. It's just a beautiful place and
this particular painting is a good representation of that feeling of being in the tropics, the
water, the sun the fun, the colours, the culture. Everything about it. So this particular work
is acrylic as is all my work. This was quite a labour intensive painting, a lot of layering
went into making this, there's a lot of texture, cloth and the original composition took quite
some time because in a painting like this the balance is very important you know, something
this large with so many different title artefacts on it, it's really important to have a nicely
balanced composition. So anyway this is what you could consider and assemblage, or how
ever you say it, or a multi media painting. You'll find wire, glass, cloth beads, little
pieces of ceramics, I''ll move out the way here so you can see, have a better view of
it, but the layering of the colours really took quite a lot of time, a lot of dry brush,
some spray, so anyway this painting was a lot of fun to do and this is the kind off
painting that goes fantastic in a room where you need a pretty strong focal point to maybe
decorate around, you know maybe above the fire place, on a wall somewhere, so anyway
thanks again for stopping I'm Joe Rasmussen and I'll see you again. This painting is live
