This tutorial will show you how to back up the media content located on your mobile device
to your Seagate Central drive.
First, you will use the Mobile Backup feature of Seagate Dashboard to create an account.
Then, you will use the Mobile Backup application for Android and IOS mobile devices to create
your backup plan.
To get started, launch Seagate Dashboard 3.0.
Once the Dashboard has launched, click on Mobile Backup.
The first step is to create a Mobile Backup account.
Enter a name and password in the spaces provided.
When you have finished entering the required information, click on Create to continue.
You will be advised that your Mobile Backup account has been created and that you are
logged into the account.
The next step is to create the backup plan.
You will create the backup plan using the Seagate Mobile Backup application for your
hand held device.
The Mobile Backup application can be downloaded from the Apple App store and Google play.
Next, navigate to the app store for your device and search for Seagate Media Backup.
Then, download and install the application to your mobile device.
Once the application has installed, tap on the Mobile Backup icon.
The first time you launch Mobile Backup, the application will step you through the setup
process.
Tap Start, to begin setting up your mobile backup plan.
You will be prompted to sign into your Mobile Backup account from your hand held device.
Enter the email address and password you used when you created the account.
After you have entered your information, tap Sign in.
Once you have signed in, you can create your mobile backup plans.
To begin, tap on the Add Backup Plan button.
You will be prompted to select how you want to back up your mobile device.
Because the Seagate Central is your own private cloud, select to backup over a Wi-Fi network.
Next, you will need to confirm that your mobile device and the computer that your Backup Plus
device is connected to, are on the same Wi Fi connection and powered on.
Next, select the file types you want to backup.
When you have finished tap Continue.
Make sure you are signed in to your Seagate Central external drive then select it as your
destination drive.
Next, tap the Backup Now button to begin backing up the content from your Mobile device to
your Seagate Central drive.
You will be advised that your plan has been created.
And that your backup plan has started running.
After the initial backup has completed, you can tap the blue circle icon anytime you want
to initiate another backup.
These are all the steps required to create a Mobile Backup for your hand held device
using Seagate Dashboard 3.0 and the Seagate Mobile Backup application.
