I'm out here in Alberta with the President of Hawx Outdoors, the inventor of the
new Dog & Gun system.
Tom, your product's been out
for six months now and people with
dog collars are switching over to your product. What do they find the difference is with your product?
Well Jeff, I guess the biggest thing they're finding is that they can communicate better with their dog.
And the reason for that is that really the control is at your fingertips
so you're never trying to fumble
for your transmitter (a conventional E-collar transmitter) your never fumbling for it
and the controls here (on your gun). So there's many things you can do
with this system that you could never do before
such as
you know a lot of guys want to have their dogs sit-to-flush, well this is
a system that you don't have to worry about the sit-to-flush
basically as soon as the bird flushes you go "sit"
O'kay, and give the dog a little nick or stimulation or vibrate.
Many other things that you might want to do... if you're running a Pointer
if he starts to creep you can give him a low level to remind him
or even give him a vibrate.
So the real differences is this remote control that goes on your E-collar...
it's a tactical advantage for you, and we've actually seen over the last six months
that many people besides just hunters
are adapting this technology. We've got people in law enforcement
who use
dogs on the street
where they may be chasing a criminal and he goes across the road and for dog protection they want to have
a remote control where they can get access to it.
So, the real differences is being able to communicate and the big advantage
is for the hunter
because he's not out there having a field trial dog every day right?
So for hunters, you know it makes it very easy for them to control their dog
uh... you can see and feel your control, you can use it
on vibrate if you want, you can use it on any type of stimulation.
So, just a tremendous advantage for guys.
I don't think that we've had a customer yet that
got a DG Remote and our system
that would ever go back to a conventional way
of hunting where you have a transmitter in your hand.
I know today was my first day of using it Tom and
I know that I'm the typical hunter
who's fumbling for my transmitter and I noticed a world of difference. Jake was much more in control and we were
to hold him in the blind
and he dropped the birds and he wasn't...
Yes, I mean it's just
easy all the way around right? If your dog comes in off the bank and he
drops the bird, right when he drops the bird "come"
give him a little nick. A dog who's conditioned to an E-collar properly will pick that bird up.
Now, you couldn't do that move if you had to go down here and find a transmitter,
that's not going to happen.
I've talked to young guys that are running young dogs nine months old
where they're dog will chase another dog who's just made a retrieve.
You can solve that problem in a second with this
So yes, I agree... totally ease-of-use. People say
why wasn't it here twenty years ago?
And luckily it all came together we thought about it, the products on the market
and hey
you know, give us a call and get one out there
and try it. Well Tom it's a beautiful day here in Alberta, what do you say we go out and do some hunting?
Absolutely...
Everybody just remember have a good day and
have a good day with your dog.
