Hi, my name's Lee Perkins. I'm a physical therapist and founder of HandsOnRemedy.com.
Today I'm going to talk about Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome and why you should consider
physical therapy as your first option in the healing process. Greater Trochanteric Pain
Syndrome, also known as Hip Bursitis, occurs when the bursa sac on the outside of the hip
joint gets stressed and inflamed. This bursa acts to reduce friction between the tendon
and the bone during normal movement. When it inflames, your hip becomes very painful
and stiff making it really difficult to move through a functional range of motion. Hip
Bursitis can make it challenging to perform even the most basic activities during your
day; like getting dressed in the morning, climbing stairs and even going for a walk.
With early Physical Therapy treatment, you can maximize your function quickly and cost
effectively. On the first visit, your Physical Therapist will perform differential diagnostic
testing to determine your exact condition. You should then expect a hands-on treatment
incorporating specialized techniques to help get the results you need. Your therapist will
also provide a home exercise program specific to your injury and the training to perform
those exercises correctly. Our goal as therapists is the same as yours; heal quickly and heal
permanently. The information you see on our website and this video should NOT be used
to determine your own condition. You should seek medical advice from a qualified professional
first. Find your Physical Therapist now at HandsOnRemedy.com, and best wishes for a speedy
recovery.
