Let me tell you a wonderful story, as eloquently told by wisemen.
In every big show, especially for musicals,
there’s a need to coordinate the technical effects with the art.
Listen up, two minutes, places, everybody, please.
That means sound, lights, sets, special effects and the orchestra.
Such is the job of a cue person.
Stage curtain, lights 102.2, go. Light 102.4, go. Fly 8, light 102.5, go.
This is where it all happens. I’m truly the technical conductor and I cue more than 600 things every night.
Go. Light 114.7, go.
It’s a pretty stressful job because the coordination of the show relies on my concentration during its three hours.
And with 40 artists on stage, I can’t afford to make a mistake.
Stand by, fly 17. And stand by for the ramp.
Thank you.
