Hi, I'm Billy Kidd here with Expert Village, and we are going to talk about the dime defense.
When you're doing this, the great thing about a nickel, you have so many defenders in the
game for the pass that you could do lots of different things with them. Because what you've
decided is this, I've taken my safety right here, I could play what they call a cover
two. A cover two is when my two safety's are going to take half of the field and cover
half of the field. Two halves cover two. So this one is going to take this half and this
one is going to take this half. Now underneath, typically what you're gonna get, you're gonna
get a man up on this or you can get a zone drop. If you man up, then you got to declare
how we're gonna do this. I've gotta walk this line backer out here and maybe he's got the
first inside receiver and he may have the middle one, and he may have the outside one.
And over here, they've got how ever these fall out too. So you've got cover two, man
underneath, which leaves these five guys now to do a couple of things.
