How do you prevent acid reflux? Well the most commons ways taking the medications to help
reduce the acid in your stomach such as the antacids, the H2 blockers and proton pump
inhibitors. There are certain things you can do on your own to help reduce acid reflux
as well. Most importantly thing is reducing your weight, stop smoking, decrease your alcohol
consumption, change your diet so that your not eating as much citrus or acidic food or
high fatty foods. The other things you can do is in some people stress can actually trigger
their acid reflux. So if you get very stressed out you may have reflux symptoms, so it's
important to maybe do some deep breathing or some behavioral modification so that you
reduce your stress levels so you reduce you acid and thereby reducing your reflux disease.
