First of all, make sure your working area is clean and organized. Next, get out an exercise
book or notepad to write in. It's probably been a while since you cleaned your room though,
so do that first. Get out your laptop or other device for access to useful websites. And
check Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook. Don't forget Instagram. Make sure you Instagram
a picture of your books and pens, too. Just so everyone knows how productive you are.
Just watch a quick YouTube video. You know, just to get settled in. Alright, time to start
writing. Write the date first. Organization is key. Put on some powerful, motivational
music. But don't let yourself get distracted. What the hell is that? Take a break and get
some energy food. Watch another YouTube video. Okay, now it's time to write an eye catching
title for your essay. And then fill in all the little holes in the letters. Just to make
it stand out. Decide you've earned a break. Watch a YouTube video. And another. And another.
And one more. Realize that all this hard work has made you extremely tired so go to bed
and try again tomorrow. Good work today. Now just repeat that process every night until
the day before the essay is due, and then freak out and write it all in one caffeine-fueled,
sleep-deprived, panic-ridden evening. And then hand it in the next day and just barely
get a passing grade. At least that's what I did. A shining example of an A+ student.
