Hi! My name is Sergey.
In today’s video I am going to show how to make wonderful and pretty dog.
In contrast to its counterparts besides lying and sleeping it can also perfectly stand on its paws.
In order to make the charm look more like a dog you can make its collar.
So to make one just twist a rubber band of any colour on your fingers and put it on.
In this case it will look more like a dog rather than a hare.
Here is the dog we will get once all is completed.
Let’s get started.
Take your loom. Make sure that the central row is offset towards the other two rows.
The open areas of pegs have point to the right and face towards you.
We will start off looping from here.
Here I am going to place rubber bands for the head.
A little below I am going to place rubber bands for the neck.
And below I am going to place bands for the body.
Separately I am going to make its tail, legs and ears and attach them to the body.
I am saying it to you in order to help you to make up your mind
on what colours to use for some certain parts of the dog in advance.
So let’s start off from the head.
Let’s place first two bands on the first peg of the central row and on the first peg of the right row.
Let’s grab two more and place them the same way on the left side.
From the first peg of the left row to the first peg of the central row.
We will almost always need double rubber bands as we loop the charm.
Now let’s go down, placing double rubber bands on the ledt and right rows.
Now let’s close off the head.
Let’s place double bands from the right peg into the centre and from the left peg into the centre.
Now let’s place double bands in the centre.
From the first peg of the central row to the second peg of the central row.
Two rubber bands.
And two more bands below.
Basically we’ve placed all the bands for the head.
Later on we will make dog’s nose, eyes and tongue.
Now let’s start making the neck.
Let’s grab double bands and place them a little below. Now let’s make the body.
Let’s grab double bands. The body is looped almost the same way as the head.
At least this round-shaped part is looped the same way.
Let’s grab double rubber bands and place them diagonally on the right side.
The same on the left side. Let’s grab double bands and place them down on these two rows.
One and now on the left side two.
Now we need to close off the body. From the right peg into the center and from the left peg into the centre.
But in contrast to the head where we placed the bands down on the central row
bands over here have to be placed from the central peg to each of the surrounding pegs.
Let’s grab double bands,
place them first on the central peg and then loop them over any of the pegs within this circle.
For instance this one. Further let’s grab more double bands and place them another peg.
In clockwise order
These bands go here. Let’s grab two more and place them on the next peg in clockwise order.
Let’s grab two more and place them on the next peg.
We have to place double bands on all the pegs within the circle.
The last peg but one. And finally the last peg. It’s ready.
Let’s push all the bands placed on the central peg down as much as possible
in order to place a single rubber band on the top and wrap it around the peg four times.
Wrap one time. Wrap two times. Wrap three times. Wrap four times. It’s ready.
Now let’s make a tail. For the tail I am going to use bands of the same colour as the body colour.
We will only make the tip of the tail of white colour.
First let’s place two bands on any two pegs.
Let’s grab two more and place them below. Now I am going to use white bands.
If you have black ones, you can use them for the tip of the tail as well.
I am placing these two. We need to place a single rubber band on the last peg and wrap it around it four times.
Wrap one time. Wrap two times. Wrap three times. Wrap four times. It’s ready. It’s our future tail.
Let’s loop it. Let’s pull the top band, wrapped four times back with our hook facing away from us.
Let’s grab two bands here and loop them over the peg.
Let's grab two bands here and bring them forward.
And finally let’s grab two last bands and bring them forward.
Keep these loops with your finger tip on this peg in order not to let the loops snap , when taking them off the loom.
Here it is. Let’s unhook it with our hook here, keeping loops on the hook. Here is our tail.
The next thing to do is to grab the top bands of this peg. These two.
Let’s unhook them. We have to pull the bands we have on the hook onto the double band.
This way. Here is the tail. We have to push it down. Let’s push it down through these bands.
In order for it not tostick out.
The bands we unhooked have to be placed back on the peg. It is ready.
The tail doesn’t stick out though it’s already looped. Now let’s get back to the head and make nose and ears.
First let’s make a nose. Grab a black rubber band and wrap it around the hook four times.
One. Two. Three. Four. Now let’s grab double bands of the same colour as our head.
Let’s put these double bands on the hook. Now we need to pull the black band,
wrapped four approximately onto the centre of the double band.
Put the other side of the band on the hook.
Now let's put a rubber band on the hook and pull the nose, which is almost ready onto the single band.
Now we need to place it on the second peg of the left row and on the second peg of the right row.
The nose is in place. Now let’s make a tongue. I need a pink rubber band for the tongue and two free pegs.
For instance these ones.
Let’s take the band, place it on the pegs, twisting the band.
Then let's twist the band one more time and place the band on top of the pegs as usual.
Beneath we have a twisted layer of bands. Whereas bands on the top are place as usual.
So now we need to grab the bottom bands of each of these pegs and pull it over to the centre.
On this peg and on the other one too.
Let’s grab the bottom bands of each of these pegs and pull it over approximately to the centre.
We’ve got a knot over here. Let’s give it a tug and take it off. Let’s get back to the head.
One side of the tongue has to be placeв on the central row peg of the head.
Now let’s do the following. It will be our tongue. It has to be a little below the nose.
That’s why let’s pull the nose up a little and place the band which is our tongue beneath the nose. This way.
The nose is slided onto the double band.
The rubber band that is closer here has to be looped over the peg we placed our nose on.
It’s ready. As you can see the tongue sticks out from beneath the bands just the way it has to.
The nose is placed slightly above. Let’s start making the eyes.
We need two black rubber bands. Let’s grab the band and wrap it around the hook four times.
One. Two. Three. Four.
Let’s grab another band and wrap it too. One. Two. Three. Four wraps.
Now let’s take a rubber band of the same colour as the head.
Let’s place it on the hook and pull the black bands approximately onto the center of the single band.
Perfect.
Let’s place one side of the band on the first peg of the left row and the other side on the first peg
of the right row.
Let’s slide the eyes to sides, not leaving them in the centre.
It's ready.
Now let’s start making the ears.
I am going to use bands of the same colour as the bands of the head.
But the tips of the ears will be white just as the tail’s tip we made.
First let’s grab a single rubber band and place it on any free two pegs.
Then pay your attention please let’s take three rubber bands and place them below.
Again let’s take three bands and place them below.
Now let me take one rubber band, wrap it around my finger two times and place onto two next pegs.
In order to make the white tips we need to place a white rubber band on the peg, wrapping it around the peg four times.
One wrap. Two wraps. Three wraps. Four wraps. It’s one ear.
Let’s make one more the same ear. Let’s take one rubber band and place it on the pegs.
Let’s take three rubber bands and place them on the pegs below.
Let’s take three more and place them below.
Now let’s take a single rubber band, let me wrap it around my fingers two times
Let’s stretch them across two next pegs.
Let’s take a white band in case if we want the tip of the ear to be white
and wrap it around the peg.
One. Two. Three. Four times.
If you have black or brown bands, you can use these colours for the tips of your dog’s ears.
Now let’s loop them.
Let’s reach through the last peg, pull the rubber band we wrapped around the peg four times
with the hook facing away from you.
Pick up the double band from inside the peg and loop it over the forward peg.
Then hook the three bands of these peg and loop them over the next peg.
Hook three bands here and loop them over the next peg.
Finally loop the last single band over the peg.
Keep the loops with your finger in order not to let them snap and unhook the ear from the loom.
Do it with your hook here. Place the ear on the first peg on the central row.
Stretch the bands and slide them onto the peg. It’s ready.
Look the tip of the ear is white. Let’s do the same with the second ear.
Let’s grab the single twisted band from inside and loop it over the next peg.
Then let’s grab three bands and loop them over the peg.
Grab three more and loop them over the next peg.
Finally let’s grab the single band and loop it over the next peg. Keep the loops with your finger and unhook the ear.
Reach through, put the loops onto the hook and place the ear on the same peg where we placed the first ear.
This way.
Two ears are ready. Now look at what has to be done next.
Before making legs we need to loop a little over here.
Reach through the central peg with your hook and pull the band wrapped around the peg four times
with your hook facing away from you.
This band is above the others. Then we need to find determine what twisted rubber bands
are the upper ones.
In my case this band belongs to this peg. That’s why I am looping it over this peg.
Reach through the peg with your hook again and grab the upper double bands.
In my case the double bands belong to this peg. Thus we placed the bands in clockwise order.
Whereas we loop it over counterclockwise and place the bands on the pegs they belong to.
Be attentive when dealing with the bands we placed the tail onto.
We need to grab the double bands and place it right here.
The tail has to be beneath. Grab two more and loop them over this peg.
The last two bands go the peg they belong to. It’s ready.
Now let’s take up making the legs. First front legs.
Let’s grab two rubber bands and place them onto any two pegs.
Let’s take two more and place them below. Let’s take two more and place them a little below.
The dog’s feet will also be white. I am grabbing a single white band and wrapping it around the peg.
One wrap. Two wraps. Three wraps and four wraps. One leg is ready.
Let’s make the one right away. Let’s place double bands.
Let’s grab two more and place them below. Take two more place them on the next pegs.
Place a white band on the last peg.
Wrap it around. One. Two. Three. Four. Perfect.
Let’s loop. Reach through the last peg with your hook.
Pull the white band back. Grab the bottom two bands from inside and loop it over the next peg.
Loop the next two bands over the next peg. Bring the last two bands forward.
Keep the loops with your finger and unhook the front leg from the loom.
Let’s take the bands left on the peg off very carefully in order not to let them snap.
Front legs are placed onto these two pegs.
That’s why let’s push the bands we have here a little down, stretch out the loops of this front leg
and slide them onto the left peg.
Now I am going to do the same with the right front leg but I will place it on the right peg.
Let’s loop as usual. Pick the bands up and loop them over the next pegs.
Hook them from inside and loop it over. It’s ready.
Keep it with your finger, hook and pull it off the peg. Let’s take the front leg with our hook.
Let's put it on this right peg.
It will be our front right leg.
Like this.
Let's remove the hook.
Now let's make back legs.
Back legs besides being shorter will also be thicker than the front ones.
Let’s take two bands and place them on two any pegs.
One. Placing them on any two pegs. Then take three bands and place them a little below.
In order to make the dog’s feet white we need to wrap a single white rubber band around the peg.
Two. Three. Four wraps. One future leg is ready.
Let’s make the other leg too. Let’s take two bands and place them. One.
Let’s take three bands and place them a little below.
Let’s wrap a single rubber band around the last peg.
One. Two. Three. Four wraps. Let’s start looping.
Pull the white band back with your hook facing away from you.
Grab the three bands from inside and loop them over the peg.
Here grab two bands from inside and loop them over the peg. Keep the loops with your finger and unhook the leg.
One and two. Let’s unhook the bands from the peg with our hook.
You can give it a stretch to adjust a little. The back legs have to be placed onto these two pegs.
Let’s make this leg a left leg. That's why I am sliding it onto the left peg. Perfect.
Let’s loop the other leg the way we looped the other leg.
Grab the three bands from inside and bring them forward.
And let’s bring these two bands forward as well.
Let me keep it with my finger and unhook it. One, two and three.
But this time with the help of the hook.
Keep your finger.
It's ready.
Let’s place the leg onto this right peg.
Let’s adjust it a little.
Now all the bands we had to place on the loom are in place. Now let’s take up looping.
I am starting to loop from this peg.
Here we need to reach through with our hook and pick the upper bands.
In my case these bands belong to the left row.
That’s why I am hooking it very carefully in order not to grab needless bands by mistake.
Let’s grab the bands, pull them off the central peg and loop it over the peg it belongs to.
As I have said in my case it the left peg.
Then let’s grab the next two bands, pull it off this peg and this time loop it over the right peg.
Further it will be little more difficult. We need to bring these rubber bands forward.
To do this reach through this peg with your hook and pick up two bottom bands.
Pull the bands off the peg and loop them over the forward peg.
Perfect.
On the right side we will do the same. But let’s finish off the left side first.
The next thing we are going to do is to deal with these bands first.
Let’s reach through here close to the leg with our hook, grab the double bottom bands.
Let’s take them out and loop over the central peg. It’s ready.
Let’s do the same on the right side.
First let’s reach through with our hook, pull all needless bands back with your hook facing away from you.
Grab the two bands from inside, pull them off the peg and loop them over the forward peg.
Now this rubber band. We have to loop this peg’s rubber band over this peg.
Let’s grab the double bands from inside and loop it over the central peg. We’ve finished looping the body.
Now let’s pick up looping the neck.
Let’s grab double neck bands from inside, pull them off the peg and loop them over head peg.
Now let’s circle around and grab the upper double bands.
In my case these bands seem to belong to the central peg.
That’s why I am grabbing the bands of the central row and bring them forward.
Pay your attention to the fact that the nose has to be right between the bands we’ve just placed.
If the tongue slipped through, hook it, pull and adjust it. So it will be in place.
Grab two next bands and pull them over the left peg.
Finally grab the last double bands and loop them over the right peg.
Now let’s deal with the left row.
Grab the double bands from inside, pulling all needless bands back and loop them over the forward peg.
Here we have to pull the eye band back, grab the double bands and loop them over the central peg.
Now right side.
We left off here. Let’s pull the double bands off this peg and loop them over the forward peg.
Now here. Let’s pull the eye band back, grab the double bands from inside,
pull them off the peg and loop them over the central peg.
Don’t forget about the bands of the central row.
These ones we’ve already pulled off.
What is left now is to grab the band, which is not very visible from inside
and to pull it over the last peg of the central row.
Pull the tongue again, if it slipped through.
Pull it a little, grabbing hold of it with your hook or fingers in order not to let it slip through.
You can actually make this adjustment when the time to take the dog off the loom comes.
But you can also do it right now. I’ve pulled the tongue out.
Before taking the dog off the loom let’s reach through the last peg and all the bands.
Let’s push it through, place one or two bands of the same colour as head bands on the hook
and slide the band on the hook through to the top.
We need to make a loop from this band.
For this we need to slide the side I am keeping with my finger through the other side.
We’ve got the loop. Now it is a tricky business to give it a tug because so many bands are placed on the peg.
That’s why let’s pull it as much as possible.
Now let’s unhook the dog from the loom.
We’ve unhooked the dog charm.
You can put the loom aside. The side that faced upwards is the front side.
In case if your dog’s eyes slipped through.
By the way you can tighten the loop more.
So if your dog’s eyes slipped through, you can push them out to place them right.
Let me do it. If your dog’s nose slipped through as well adjust it as well, placing it in the centre.
You can do it with your hook, if it’s needed.
The tongue slipped through as well. Let’s get it back. I’ve pulled it a little and now it is in place.
In order to trim these loops down I will pull them a little. More or lees. It’s ready!
Now in order to hide the loom I will pull it through somewhere in the back.
I am pulling the loops through any two loops in the back.
And I am pulling this loop that tightened all the bands through some place in the back
in order not to let it stick out.
You can pull it through any rubber bands.
That’s why you don’t necessarily have to pay your attention to the bands I pull the loops through.
In order to fix the head in the right position.
We need to pull the neck rubber bands this way.
Let’s pull the neck bands.
Now as you can see the head is in the right position.
Perfect.
Let’s stretch the legs a bit. Stretch out the front legs. Stretch out the back legs.
Also let’s stretch the tail.
Let’s see whether it can stand or not.
Yes, it can.
You don’t see it well from this view. It stands good enough.
It’s ready!
You can also move the ears slightly down in order make it look more like a dog rather than a hare.
That’s all. I hope you liked the dog charm.
I hope you will make a whole family of such dog charms of different colours.
