Well I feel quite nervous, quite anxious actually.
because I'm always worried about communication -- I need to buy a ticket
there's going to be announcments which I don't understand
because I can't hear them
and I need to check that I'm going to have the right information
you know -- which is the right platform?
So things like that, it's quite a nerve-wracking time actually.
I was on a train and it stopped quite suddenly.
And we didn't move anywhere, and everyone was looking around
we waited for about 10 minutes or so
I was like "Come on, come on, we need to get moving!"
And a man came through and I explained I was deaf
and this is one of the guards, and he actually drew a picture
and he explained that trees had fallen down on the line
hence why the train was stopped and we couldn't go any further.
And I was really relaxed, I was treated as a customer should be.

I was treated exactly the same as other people.
And he kept coming back, that was the lovely thing
-- he followed it up, kept updating me on what was happening
he did say you might have to change trains
but it was fine: I felt safe, I was relaxed
not worried, it was a totally stress-free experience.
I arrived at work late but obviously I'd informed them I was going to be late
but it's one of those things
