Hi this is JJ Johnson from Pierce College and I have created this video to help you use the Northwest Council of
Managers of Educational Technology (NW/MET) Conference 2012 hashtag on Twitter.
Credit for the format of this video goes to Hollyrae from Sloan-C.
Hashtags are used to organize and locate information on Twitter.
They are very simple to use and you can follow a hashtag without even having a Twitter account.
Simply to go search.Twitter.com and type your hashtag into the search box.
For the NW/MET conference, the hashtag is #nwmet12.
Hashtags can be helpful in finding other symposium participants as well as resources and comments being shared through the Twitter
backchannel.
To post to the symposium hashtag you will need a Twitter account.
Setting up an account is easy and requires your name and email address.
Although Twitter provides privacy settings in order for your tweets to be seen by others using the symposium
hashtag you will need to share publicly.
From your twitter account, simply use the compose tweet box - make sure you include the hashtag #nwmet12- be careful of spelling,
hashtags must be exact in order to be effective. You may also be interested in saving the Twitter search.
We are using twubs.com to list all the conference tweets.
Just go to http://twubs.com/nwmet12
Hashtags enhance the experience of networking in a conference or symposium setting.
We highly encourage you to follow the #nwmet12 conference Tweets and share what you are learning.
Enjoy the conference!
