The Power to Stop An Introduction by Karen Bentley
Hi, I'm Karen Bentley, and I'm the author of this amazing book, The Power to Stop...Stopping
as the path to self love, personal power, and enlightenment. My goal today is to just
tell you a little bit about this book, because maybe it's the program for you; maybe it's
the solution you've been looking for. The first thing that I'd like you to know is that
any behavior can be stopped. Out of control eating, out of control drinking, drugging,
smoking, sexing, you name it. Whatever it is that you want to stop can be stopped. And
the reason it can be stopped is because a behavior is just a string of actions that
you've linked together into an automatic program. It's not like a genetic problem that you're
born with, like Down's Syndrome. You can't come up with another chromosome if you weren't
born with one. Or it's not like being born without a limb, or it's not like being born
so that you can't grow hair. It's just a behavior, and behaviors can be changed. That's the really
good news. The other thing that's different about this program is that I like to use the
term "stopping". Stopping keeps you focused on the goal at hand, it's what you want, and
you get what you think about, so you want to be focused on what you want. It's also
a lighter, more uplifting term, so if you're constantly saying, "Oh, I'm an addict" or
"I'm out of control" or "I'm compulsive", then Number 1, you're focusing on the problem
and not the solution, and Number 2, you're giving yourself a reason to feel heavy about
it, and to feel down about it. If you use the term "stopping", that immediately brings
your perspective up, and that's a help to you, so that's another reason why I like it.
Another big, dramatic, exciting difference about The Power to Stop is that it frames
stopping as a skillset, a fundamental skillset to be learned, rather than as a disease to
be cured. And, you know, like every other human skill, stopping can be observed, it
can be copied, it can be practiced, and it can be learned, so that's really, really good
news. Unfortunately, stopping is not recognized as a fundamental skill in most homes, in most
schools, in most businesses, in most churches. And, while 12-step programs are great, and
I'm not knocking them in any way, they're not for everyone, and neither is rehab. And
that leaves a huge hole to be filled, and The Power to Stop fills it. The Power to Stop
is a 30-day program that teaches four essential, fundamental life skills. There's a skill for
the Mind, Spirit, Heart, and Body, and each skill by itself is powerful, and by that I
mean, it produces a result. And when you put all four of those skills together into a systematic
and disciplined daily training program, stopping becomes a full life expression, and it really
becomes a force in your life. So that's yet another exciting thing about this program.
I offer the same Power to Stop program in three formats. The first format is the do-it-yourself
book, the most affordable option. The second format is a 30-day Coaching Program, for those
people who need more attention, and that important word, accountability. And the last way that
I offer it is as a weekend boot camp, "Get Extreme Results". So go to http://powertostop.com
, go right now, check it out, and see which program is right for you, and buy it. Bye
for now.
