Hey guys out there, today we got a really nice skiboot: The "Quest max 120"
And with this boot you have the posibillity to wide the innerboot and the shell. Salomon wants you to do that in a special shop.
Today i want to show you how you do that at home, it's no problem, really easy and without risk.
Check it out! Part1 is to wide the inner boot, and part2 (link): Wide the shell. We also made a review about the Quest 100/120.
Here we got the inner boot. Salomon calls it "MyCustomfit" which means that you heat the boot (90°C). Than you step in and it will custom fit to your shape of foot.
The general problem is the with in the forefoot (Salomon boots a really tight). Its not enough to just step in the heated innerboot.
Because of that we use tapes and stick it to the part of the foot which is to wide. It can be like 0.5 to 1cm thick tape.
Now we did it, you can see the tape. You have to put on your ski socks. And before we heat the boot: TAKE OUT THE BED OF THE BOOT!
Use a thermometer (normal you check the heat of meet with that) which should be up to 100°C to check the temperature!
When the ofen is heated to ca. 90°C we can put in the inner boot. TIP: use logs that the boot wont tuch the metal. Abd we start the timer.
About 10min. After 10min. We are able to get out the boot (DANGER: Its hot!), and put back in the BED!!!!
Now step in the boot, and tight the boot right up there.
IMPORTANT: normally you should step back in the shell now! But we have to bend our shell itself that is ok.
After 3-4min. you can strain the foot (that it fells like you are skiing)
We stretched the inner boot. Check this out to wide your shell. This video is without engagement. So if you fail i can't be blamed. But i did 4 boot and it was no problem!
