(Kyle - Student:) It's a very fun program.
I don't know of any other ... many other programs
that we can climb ... 120 feet up in the air and,
you know ... have the classroom up there.
( chatter on walkie talkies )
I'm outside ... I get to climb ...
I get to be active and physical,
and it's in electronics and ... kind of
the mechanical tie-in of everything as well.
(Matthew - Instructor:) We have a two-year
associate degree here.
The first year is largely ...
fundamentals of electricity,
introduction to PLC's ... hydraulics ... things like that.
But they also get a healthy dose
of actually climbing our turbines.
We have a rescue tower here,
where students get certified
in safe access and rescue,
and they have four different turbines
that they can work on.
(Kyle:) It's a well-rounded program.
It teaches us everything that we need to know,
not only for wind, but if we if we wanted, to ...
... say, get a maintenance job somewhere else.
(Matthew:) What makes our program unique? ...
Man ... I mean there's really nothing else like it out there.
