So if you're involved in a divorce or some other type of family law case you're
probably having to fill out certain financial statements and so are the
other parties
this is Dave at AFX search licensed investigators
these financial statements typically are standard form provided by the Court
provided by the state
to get consistent information from all the parties in the case
the courts have a lot of latitude on how to interpret these
and how to take these in and in many cases there is very little criminal
consequence
if the other side doesn't provide the a form filled out or even doesn't provide
all the information
you as a counter party have to prove misrepresentation and show bad faith the
good news is if you do that
you may be able to demonstrate to the court that the other party isn't playing
fair
and you bring up the fact that what they're saying may
be needed to taken with a grain of salt that standard form
is also not a limitation you can ask for more details
from the other side you can match what they provide with known documents that
you've
obtained earlier or even asked for discovery during the case
or after you receive that financial document if you have more questions
