REV RUN: Next on "Rev Run's Renovation,"
Justine has a crazy plan
to turn Miley's room into a magical castle.
I want to make it princessy
and give a new bed which is like a house.
[ Crickets chirp ]
But when problems start adding up...
We had to relocate a duct and relocate electricity.
...is our plan just a fantasy?
[ Sighs ]
Four, three, two, run.
This is Rev Run from Run DMC.
Welcome to our home. Come on in.
I live in this house with my beautiful wife, Justine.
We haven't changed this house since we moved in.
JUSTINE: I could just knock this off with my heel.
Every time you're doing a renovation,
it comes with a price.
You know what I don't like?
You know what you do like?
What I don't like.
Don't let me confuse you.
We have the best contractor.
This is a Lazy Susan we're gonna be abusin'.
I like Joe.
We've got the best architect.
We got everything.
JUSTINE: I'm like that hands-on type of woman.
Oh. Oh, snap.
My husband, he's "all talk."
I am the foreman on this job.
I'm in charge of the budget,
and she's thinking of all this crazy stuff.
I would like a rock wall.
It's a castle bed, and she can walk up one side
and slide down the other.
Pray for the reverend.

Is this thing on already?
Is it on?
[ Groans ]
This is my favorite horse ever.
REV RUN: Miley is my little 6-year-old firecracker,
I might say, and how do you say no
to a 6-year-old that's this cute?
I get to decorate it myself.
It's gonna be so awesome!
This is Miley's room, and it seems to be good
besides what's cluttered, to me.
There's a dollhouse there and there's a dollhouse there.
That's two different dollhouses.
This is her hamper.
Didn't even know.
I want to make it princessy.
Okay. Stop.
[ Imitate's tire screeching, crashes ]
Does this look princessy to you?
It's pink.
It seems to be pretty princessy to me.
In my opinion, Miley's room's incredible.
It's pink. What more do you want?
You're a little girl, you like pink.
JUSTINE: Joey just doesn't get it.
If I say we're gonna turn this room into a pink palace,
that's just what it's gonna be.
Okay.
So, this bed right here is very, very rickety.
Right. It's beat up. She needs a new bed.
REV RUN: Yeah, the bed's a little rickety.
Fine. Get a new bed.
But this whole idea of doing the whole bedroom over, ixnay.
And I wanted to get her --
A new bed.
...a new bed which is gonna be like a house.
How do you expect to get a house with a ceiling this low?
Well, I was thinking to raise -- raise the roof a little.
I'm serious.
Let's break it down here.
Tell us what your vision is, Mrs. Simmons.
First we're gonna move the door and blow out the ceiling
so I can fit a huge custom castle bed.
Then we'll take some space from our master bedroom
and give Miley her own fabulous walk-in closet
and a bathroom fit for a princess.
So, you're gonna go from princess to princessier?
Correct? That's true, right?
That's not a word.
Princessier? That's a word to me.
I've always been taught to pick your battles.
This battle of the bedroom for Miley is in my wife's hands.
I've already made my point.
What is that?
I don't even know if I have a point.
I love you.
JUSTINE: I'm getting ready to pick out
Miley's bathroom tiles, flooring,
so let's see what's going on inside.
ANNA MARIE: All right, Miley.
I've decided to create a jewel-box bathroom,
and I want it to feel like you're a princess,
so you follow me.
This just came in.
Oh, that's beautiful.
Beautiful white mother of pearl floor
that's really like jewelry.
We love this floor. Show us what you have next.
So, now let's check out the border.
It's like her bathroom is gonna be
like an amazing pearlized jewelry box.
And I want to get the border, so this is what I want to do --
a little bit of glass and glamour.
JUSTINE: So, even if I did a very light pink wall?
Yes, of course.
We could bring in the color,
'cause I know she wants the color.
Right.
[ Back-up alarm beeping ]
REV RUN: My job today is to make sure that this house gets packed up
because they're coming to demolish the house.
MILEY: Amy is my best cousin ever,
and she's here to help me do packing.
MILEY: That doesn't fit. Got it.
This one's ready to go.
JUSTINE: I have some designers coming in to look at the space
so we can make a plan for her castle bed.
Hi.
Hi! Andrea.
Hi.
Yeah.
Yes, she is.
Yes!
So. This is Miley's room.
Wow.
Ready for a makeover.
JUSTINE: Yeah, she made sure everything was out of here.
Well, do you want to draw the bed for me
and then I'll go ahead and build it?
[ Laughter ]
Well, the only issue we have is if, you know,
this is obviously the biggest wall,
but if we do it here,
then you're gonna walk into the side of the bed,
so might have to change the design a little bit
so it has a better visual impact coming from the front.
That's the bed?
I did steps.
Those are the steps, of course.
So, the bed is up on top,
and underneath is kind of your play area, right?
That's perfect, Miley.
The only thing is I'm wondering can it hold me?
Absolutely.
This bed, I feel a little guilt.
It's really for me.
I'm still a child at heart.
Truthfully, if my husband would've let me,
we would've had this in our master.
So, we're here.
We just pulled up to go upstairs
to make sure that the demolition is going good, so, here we go.
This is the last time you're gonna see your bedroom like this, Miley.
You see this?
So, you're smashing through this wall today?
Yes. Well, this is gonna be the entrance to Miley's bathroom.
That's your bathroom.
Let's get this last good look at this from "A" to "Z."
You see that? Your room's about to change.
Joe's about to knock the bedroom down,
and we got to get out of here.
So, when I freeze, that means I'm really not here.
Watch.
[ Giggles ] I can see you!
When a person freezes, it is impossible to see them.
Here, ready? One, two, three.
[ Laughing ]
Knock it down.
All right.
Oh! Oh!
Git-r-done!
JOE: Gonna remove the closet.
We're gonna relocate the entrance door to the left.
Oh, crap.
We got problems up there.
As it turns out, there's an air duct
directly over Miley's ceiling, and until we move that duct,
we're not gonna be able to raise the ceiling.
Raising Miley's roof just got a little bit more complicated.
All right, so this is gonna change time?
Definitely more time. And unfortunately, more money.
JOE: Here's the problem --
there's an air duct directly over Miley's ceiling,
and until we move that duct,
we're not gonna be able to raise the ceiling.
It's gonna set us back at least a day.
Thought the whole ceiling was gonna be gone.
What's going on?
I thought the framers would've been up here already.
Well, we encountered a couple of problems.
What problem?
There was a duct above here and above Miley's ceiling.
Right.
...to accommodate the Posh Tot bed,
we're gonna have to relocate the duct.
All right, so this is gonna change time,
which changes money.
Which is a big hiccup, 'cause it takes a whole day out the game.
But the room's gonna get done.
We're still gonna have our castle bed,
so the little princess shall enter her kingdom.
JOE: All right.
REV RUN: So, I walked into Miley's room
and this big ceiling, 13 feet.
Where it was a short ceiling before, it's like incredible.
REV RUN: So, all these changes are gonna be worth it
at the end of the day because her bedroom's gonna be amazing.
New location for Miley's door.
I'm glad we were able to work that out.
REV RUN: So, what they did was they created a door
on the side so when you come in,
you can still see this beautiful new bed.
Think we could charge admission for people
to come in Miley's room when it's all over.
It's gonna be crazy.
JUSTINE: Today we get to see Miley's bedroom design.
I'm like a kid in a candy store.
[ Doorbell rings ]
Hey, Justine.
It's good to see you again.
MILEY: Hi.
ANDREA: Are you ready to see what we came up with?
Oh, my goodness. This is your bed.
You love it?
Yeah.
And you realize this all came from your drawing.
You drew the steps going up, you drew the slide,
you drew the opening.
Jason did match the drawing that Miley had envisioned.
JASON: We left a space open here. What do you think we should put?
A "J" for Justine.
No!
"M" for Miley.
Oh, "M" for Miley.
You can have sleepovers and I will spend the night with you.
Mnh-mnh.
When daddy goes out of town, you always get in my bed.
No, this time I'm getting in my bed.
And I can't get in with you?
Mnh-mnh.
No. No.
Mnh-mnh.
[ Laughter ]
The next trip will be Jason will be doing the murals,
getting it ready to bring the bed in
for the final install.
Bye!
JASON: I think this bed's gonna be one of the most
over-the-top pieces of furniture that we ever built.
It's gonna be a show stopper.
We'll see you later.
JUSTINE: Our next step is Sheetrock is gonna be going up.
So, I walk in Miley's room and the ceiling is, like,
13 feet tall, which is so amazing.
It's gonna make her room look so big.
The end of the day, we're gonna be fly.
Just got the tub for Miley's bathroom.
The next step is a good one.
Now Miley has her own tub, own Jacuzzi.
So, to walk in Miley's bathroom and to see all the frame,
like, where everything's gonna be was amazing.
REV RUN: They took my closet,
created another closet for Miley,
and a bathroom just by taking a piece of my closet,
so Miley's bedroom is gonna be --
I think maybe one of the best projects in the house
will be Miley's bedroom.
JOE: This is Miley's pedestal sink.
I think Miley's gonna really love this sink.
JUSTINE: She finally got her own bathroom --
as we call it, her jewelry box bathroom,
and I'm just happy.
Miley's gonna flip out.
I am so happy that I have Posh Tots coming
to do an amazing bed for my daughter,
but I was up all night thinking, "Is it gonna fit?"
[ Sighs ] Just a lot of things.
Will she have enough room to walk around after the bed's in?
My husband doesn't want me to call them.
[ Sighs ]
I said I wouldn't call.
Well...
Shoot.
So, I'm gonna call 'cause...
[ Telephone beeping ]
I'm gonna have to just trust and let him do what he does best.
That's it.
JASON: We have to be able to take this thing apart,
fit it through all the doorways.
We're not 100% sure if this is all gonna work out.
I'm so happy for her. And me.
JASON: We're getting to the final stages
of Miley's princess castle bed.
This thing has turned into a massive project,
but it's gonna be really cool.
We have this carriage desk that we're making.
It's gonna resemble the back end of a carriage.
She'll be able to do her homework there.
One of the really cool elements in this room is this giant tree.
It's actually a giant bookshelf.
We're gonna give this thing a tree texture,
make it look as natural as we can
but still kind of cartoon element.
We have to be able to take this thing apart,
fit it through all the doorways,
including this big tree element that we're putting in.
Until we get there and we see all the angles,
we're not 100% sure if this is all gonna work out.
We hope so.
I am so excited.
Jason is gonna start the mural around Miley's castle bed.
It's gonna be like flowers, and I think mountains.
JASON: The room's all prepped out, ready to go,
so all that's left to start sketching and painting.
MILEY: Hey.
Justine, how are you?
Miley, how are you?
Yeah.
Yeah!
Down here.
Right here?
Careful. There we go.
Good job, My.
This should be my job.
That should be your job, right?
Whoa.
Miley, you're a natural, for sure.
She can be the next Picasso.
Yeah.
Bye.
Me and my guys are installing the princess bed.
I'm so happy for her. And me.
JASON: I know this bed is for Miley,
but I'm getting a little bit of a vibe here
that we're kind of building this bed for Justine, as well.
[ Squeals ]
ANDREA: Jason's been working all week getting Miley's room ready.
I am here to do the finishing touches on the bed,
and the biggest thing of all is we're gonna show it to Miley.
I think she's gonna love it. I can't wait.
See, Miley has not seen this room yet.
I think it's gonna have sparkles.
So, I just want you to walk Miley through.
ANDREA: Okay.
[ Chuckling ] Okay.
Okay.
[ Chuckling ] Okay.
I know my wife's gonna cry.
There's no way she's not gonna cry.
And Miley, if I know her well, she's going to faint.
You ready? Okay, let's go.
I feel like it's Christmas morning.
ANDREA: I feel like it's Christmas morning.
MILEY: Oh. Oh! [ Swoons ]
[ Laughs ]
Yeah.
JUSTINE: She's gonna go crazy,
so I think she should enjoy her moment by herself first.
MILEY: This is like a wonderland.
This is pretty.
This is pretty.
I love it.
[ Grunts ]
Oh, my gosh!
This is, like, amazing.
On top of her bed, it's almost like a stage.
I wish I had a big-girl one.
MILEY: Open it.
[ Gasps ] Oh, my.
RUN REV: This is more than I could ever imagine.
I've be coming in here every day looking at it,
and it was hard for me to...
...not tell her.
Look at this, Miley. See the leaves?
MILEY: Yep.
It just goes on and on and on.
She can hang stuff 'cause they made it low for her.
She got room for her shoes.
I'm just happy.
I always say happy wife, happy life, but I got a new one.
Happy girl, happy world.
Oh, Miley!
I love it.
You do? Oh, I feel like crying.
Miley's the sweetest thing in the world, so I hooked her up.
JUSTINE: The room is out of this world.
The whole thing is my favorite part.
Mom, remember? No shoes.
Oh, shoot. I'm sorry.
Run.
You know, you see things on paper,
you see things online, and then you get them,
and sometime they meet your expectations
and sometime they don't,
and it really went far beyond because they made it so amazing.
She knows I'm gonna be up there.
I'm gonna be taking some snoozes,
some cute little naps, so she's gonna love to snuggle.
RUN REV: Childhood passes by in the blink of an eye.
Before you know it, your sweet babies become men and ladies.
Like the old proverb says, listen to the whispers
so you don't have to hear the screams.
God is love, Rev Run.
