MAN: If you're thinking about traveling outside the U.S.,
then you'd better make sure you're carrying a passport.
And you can apply for one at the county administration building.
WOMAN: Have a seat on booth number two,
and I'll have somebody with you in just a moment.
If you've never had a passport before,
you need to bring your proof of citizenship,
which would be either a birth certificate
or a naturalization certificate.
If you have had a passport before, your previous passport
will serve as your proof of citizenship.
MAN: Unless it's been mutilated by your aunt's dog.
Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, this is Elizabeth.
More people are coming in because a passport's required for everyone.
MAN: Everyone that's traveling out of the country, that is.
There's the regular passport book,
plus the all-new passport card.
ELIZABETH: It's about the size of a credit card,
and it's only good for land and sea travel
to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.
MAN: So whether you're planning to travel abroad
or just cross the border...
ELIZABETH: A passport will be required in order to reenter the country.
