hi it's alaskagranny have you ever heard of Kobe beef what exactly is it why is
it so expensive how do I cook it and is it worth it well I'm going to answer
those questions for you today technically Kobe beef is only raised in
Hyogo Prefecture in Japan from Wagyu cattle it has superior marbling the fat
is evenly distributed and it's pink in color it should be rich tender and fatty
here in Alaska organic sirloin steak is $21.99 a pound
my butcher recommended trying the American Kobe beef top loin New York
strip steak at $25.99 in a pound he said it was an excellent price and a fine
time to try this delicious product to cook my American Kobe Wagyu steak I heated my cast-iron
grill pan coated it with a little bit of olive oil got it nice and hot bring your
steak up to room temperature salt and pepper both sides place it on
to your hot pan grill on one side for three minutes
and I turn the kobe wagyu steak over grill the second side for 3 minutes add a few pats of
butter to the top of the steak when your steak is done remove it from your grill
pan and allow it to rest pour the extra juices from your pan over the meat if you like
once your meat has rested it's time to taste the steak cuts nicely it is cooked perfectly
delicious it did have a little bit of gristle in it which I was surprised for
a top-quality New York strip steak at $25.99 a pound I expect it to be able to
have each delicate bite melt in my mouth so while it is expensive American Kobe wagyu
beef might be something you'd like to try yourself it's easy to prepare tastes
great is it worth it you might have to try it and decide for yourself
