Hi guys, this is Tiki. Welcome back. I'm going to do a quick tutorial on how to turn your
broken eye shadow into a fingernail polish.
I saw this on Ashley Elizabeth's blog. She has a guest blogger and she discussed it.
So, I said, "Hey I want to give it a try!" I had some broken eye shadows that I was going
to use but I decided I wanted a gray fingernail polish.
So, I went and bought a little gray eye shadow. As you can see, I have already started breaking
it up.
So, I will put Ashley's link down below and let's go ahead and get started.
I can show you how to turn a broken eye shadow into a fingernail polish.
So, once you get it out of the container...see here is my empty container. I just used a
nail tool to chop it up and break it out.
I'm sorry but I thought I was recording all of this but I was not. I had a little accident
with my tripod. I have to hold the camera in one hand and do this. So this is what you
want to do. I have an old card. This is a body shop card and you want to chop the eye
shadow into a fine powder. It really very easy if you have a soft eye shadow that you
can use. as you can see it really doesn't take much of anything to grind it up.
Next, I have a bottle of clear fingernail polish that I purchased. we are just going
to take the powder and a little funnel. I'm going to use this to put the powder inside
the nail polish.
OK, so what I'm doing now is pretty much scooping it up on the card and putting it into the
funnel. I'm sorry this is kinda all over the place guys. I'm just using a little funnel.
The one I showed you.
OK guys so I put all of the eye shadow inside the bottle and you have to do after that is
shake it, roll it, shake it, and roll it until it's all mixed in. You will start to see the
color trying to form.
I don't know how well you can see it because of my lighting. I'm sorry about that. I'm
moving soon! So, my lighting should get better. My room won't be pink anymore. It will actually
be a blank white canvas. And like any nail polish, if it is clumped up or whatever you
just shake it really well. She said roll it but I'm seeing better results with shaking
the mess out of it. It's really that simple...just use the funnel, break up your eye shadow.
I took it from this used the nail tool used a body shop card chopped it all up used the
little funnel to get it all in I will said it was a little messier than I thought it
was going to be but part of that was probably my frustration. My tripod like said, it broke
and it's hanging on my a thread right now. but if i try to lean it over the whole thing
will just collapse. Like I said, I have another one somewhere but i have no idea where it
is right now in my house I'm lucky if I can find anything because nothing is where it's
supposed to be because I'm packing. So, I'm excited about that because I'm going back
home. Hopefully, I can get rid of this freaking country. I'm not going to say country because
that is offensive. this southern accent that I've picked up
This is what it looks like after I've shaken it. And you see...I think you can see. Let
me try to adjust my lighting. Hopefully you can see it.
And it goes on like a regular nail polish.it's a little messy right now. what i'm probably
going to do is polish my nails with it and at the end of this video I will just show
you what a finished set of nails looks like. but you can really see the pigment in it.
It really looks nice. I'm thinking about maybe doing a little nail art with it but we will
see how it turns out. Thanks for bearing with me and working with me through all of my cut
and my issues that I'm having. I was determined that I was going to do this video because
I've been trying to do it for the last two weeks. It's pretty much done. It's a gray
polish but it looks like it has a little gold in it. It's not a pure gray gray. stay tuned
and I will show you pictures of what my nails look like once I polish them.
