Hey, what are you up to?
Seeing if I can remember everything that I did this morning.
Uhhh... ok, why?
Well, I heard about this Lumosity thing. You do all these games and it is supposed to help
you with different brain functions.
Okay, and what is playing games supposed to do with your memory of this morning?
You are supposed to improve in that area. I'm just trying to see if it is worth buying.
You have to pay to play games?
You pay for your games, and they don't even help your brain.
Oh yeah!? Tell me what these games do.
Okay, one of them has you remember a number, while you also have to remember where a bird
is on the screen. The closer you get the more points.
Okay, come play Call of Duty with me. You can look at the map and remember where all
the other players are, and then kill them. The faster you do it, the more points you
get.
Very funny. There's another one that test memory. You have to pick all the right cards
that light up.
Okay, come play Madden with me and you have to pick which player you throw to based on
the different colored routes that you get to choose from.
You know what? This is something serious. I really want to get better at remembering
things.
I'm totally being serious right now! You shouldn't have to pay for something that probably isn't
even fun!
Well, it is a little monotonous.
Of course it is! There is also scientific evidence that says that gamers are able to
make decisions faster than those that don't play games.
Really?
Yeah.
And you get that from killing people and playing football?
Not just people! Zombies, aliens, villains.... and so much more!
Well, that does sound like more fun!
