Today, there are many independent games that can't be absent
in the library of any gamer , and Rogue Legacy is one of them.
This title that mixes elements of adventure and role play, is the perfect balance between difficulty and fun,
adding the rogue-like element, where our character is subjected to a permanent death, unable to return to play with him.
The story gets us into the helmet of a family that suffers the misfortune of losing his father,
the King, in a huge haunted castle in search of something specific that will be revealed later.
Seen this way, the child will have to rescue his father, or to be precise, the work of future generations.
If the slogan "Prepare to die" of Dark Souls inspired you respect for him, the same goes in Rogue Legacy.
It's so easy to die you'd be surprised of the children of the children who have fallen, but obviously that's not the issue.
Although the sense of reward is unbelievable, and invites you to explore every room of the castle, without obviously,
not die in the try cause of really dangerous enemies and environments full of traps that keep us alert almost most of the time in the game.
The interesting of the title, is that when you die, we will be replaced by one of our children, a successor who will continue this adventure.
To make think worse, we'll lose all the progress in the castle, having to travel from scratch again,
and as if that were not enough, our successors are generated randomly , unable to choose which attributes we want,
in turn , the castle and its rooms also generated randomly. Fortunately, the money we have collected can be used to buy upgrades,
new classes and special skills of each of them, and specific NPC that help us as the blacksmith,
that from blueprints that we found in the castle, he'll forge weapons and parts of armor for us,
the sorceress, who can enchant with a special attribute some part of the armor from runes found
in rooms, where we have to perform a specific test to obtain them, and finally the architect,
that will prevent the random generation of the castle when we enter with a new hero,
useful in situations to check an area, take the loot from a chest, or remember where is a boss.
The castle is divided into four distinct areas, with their level of difficulty.
One is the castle itself, where we learn what to expect and as the game takes place;
the forest, the tower, and the dungeons.
Each will have very strong enemies, sub-bosses and dangers known and unknown
being the easiest area the castle, and the most difficult, the dungeons
So getting money to level up and build our manor, buy new weapons and parts,
is a duty to fight against powerful enemies.
Although the dynamism does not stop here: each new successor, will feature various qualities that most affect the game itself,
or not. For example : if he has dyslexia, will be difficult to read something,
if he has Alzheimer, we can't see the overall map, if he has delirium, "ghostly" enemies will appear,
confusing them from the real, or suffer from gigantism or dwarfism
Each offers certain advantages and disadvantages in the battlefield.
But dying is not always a misfortune, depending on the class we choose, their successors shall be more resistant and stronger,
with better health and mana points, important to survive challenges ahead.
Rogue Legacy is a difficult game. Yes: it is, but not to the point of frustrating the player,
inviting you to eliminate enemies, collect coins, find treasures and proceed to new areas.
The depth of it goes beyond what I can say, since there are many variants to analyze,
but with patience and experience, we'll know which favor us from the ones that don't. An incredible game from its audiovisual section,
to near mystical formula that immerses you in it, as few do.
Undoubtedly, a title that deserves all your attention and, above all, be in your virtual library of video games.
