A gentleman viewer asks, "I'm a 55-year-old man and don't know what supplements to take
to protect my health. Any suggestions?" Well of course this is an important question because
we all wanna remain healthy and vital as we age. For men I would say omega-3 oils, trace
minerals to help support hydration, magnesium is really important for men, as is zinc, and
B vitamins, and then probably vitamin C, or a general anti-oxidant to help protect from
inflammatory issues. Inflammation is really one of the underlying concerns in all in all
people, you know, as we age particularly. If there's any prostate issues, then you wanna
add additional zinc and you can use herbs saw palmetto and pygeum, as well as I suggest
people eat pumpkin seeds daily. And vitamin D should also be tested and used if it's if
it's found to be low as part of the overall supplement plan. But of course as we age we
wanna stay fit and flexible, so stretching is important, aerobic exercise to keep our
heart strong and our endurance good, and and also doing some weight work to keep us keep
us healthy. And and and keep our muscles good, because, you know, muscle strength is important
for aging for men as well as women. And, but generally if you're a man, you should get
checked up by your doctor and have your prostate checked, your heart checked, consider having
a colonoscopy any time over 50 and earlier if there's any family history of colon problems.
So, see your doctor, get your blood tests done, and, you know, get a good exam and assessment.
Because knowledge is power and the more we know about our own personal health, the better
we can care for ourselves.
