It's been another great spring for the University of Louisville
Students are getting their degrees and we've announced another big class of distinguished
scholars
This year we had 7 students accept prestigious Fulbright Scholarships.
We had a couple Borens, a Goldwater, Mary Churchill Humphries, Erasmus Mundus
and 1 of just 62 Truman Scholars in the US
The honors program was great, there were a lot of things that
I could've put on my resume or I could've wrote about
To apply for the Truman you have to identify a need of society
then you have to write a policy proposal for some
government agency to try to fix that need
There were a lot of things I could've wrote about,
but the honors program, especially Dr. Condon and Emily
were great in helping me tailor what I wanted to write
about to things that more fit my background
and also choosing the undergraduate school of my choice.
It was also great to see several folks from the class of 1963 back on campus.
This is a very special day because our golden alumni who are from the class of 1963
get to celebrate their 50th anniversary as alumni and
we induct them into the golden society
which is really special and a huge milestone for them.
The golden alumni were in Louisville to help celebrate the most
important day in the life of the university, graduation day
graduation day
The University of Louisville proudly handed out 2700 degrees at spring commencement
Along with honorary degrees to journalist and UofL alum Howard Fineman
and one of UofL's biggest cheerleaders and supporters, Henry Heuser Jr.
It's been a great school year and we're expecting even bigger things
with a great freshman class this fall. Go Cards
