LORETTA: Ain’t nothin’ horrible gonna happen today.
It’s a day for walk-takin’, cloud lookin’,
What a day for dough-bakin’, bread-cookin’,
Watchin' the grass soak up each bright ray,
Watchin’ my children both wander yonder to play.
And if a cloud should come my way
To try to block the sun and ruin my day,
Ain’t that cloud justified?
God made it not to hide!
Look on up there, will I,
Watch as he passes by, will I!
And if a gust of wind
Knocks all my laundry,
I’ll get to go outside and feel
The sun and the grass and the ground.
See how the weathervane sits asleep. It’s so still.
You can’t hear a bird or a breeze cryin’.
Look up in the blue. Not a cloud by, and
I kinda lean on my windowsill.
Oh, to remember this morning’.
Somehow I will.
