Hi, I'm Matt Cail. On behalf of Expert Village I'm here today to show you how to do a mime
costume. A few last finishing touches before we finish with our mime costume. First you'll
notice that I have not extended the mime makeup down to the neck area. Why is this? Mimes
traditionally wear makeup more like a mask they don't extend it down the neck, some will
some will basically say there should be no expose flesh anywhere. But more the night
you see them more wearing their makeup more like a mask something that they can literally
take on and off which is obviously has a demarcation line between the neck and the actual covered
makeup area. So you don't have to extend the makeup down to your neck. Next appropriate
and inappropriate mime props appropriate mime props include things like umbrellas, canes
even flowers those are all things mimes can carry around and start doing some silent humor
with if they so choose. Something you should not have though are things like weapons or
other instruments like violent, mimes no that is not mimes that's not mimes at all. Mimes
don't tend to be violent I guess you should always go for this with your own little unique
flare but in general if you're going for a mime costume keep it nice keep it musical,
keep it fun, keep it light.
