This is called a "Shawl Collar" (it's a tongue twister...Shawl Collar, Shawl Collar, say
it 5 times! You'll never forget it, but you won't be able to say it!) What it does is
instead of having a jacket or some such garment that has an actual separate lapel onto it,
what a Shawl Collar does is it's all one piece that rolls over. It's not one piece, technically
when you sew it together, but we're not talking about that. So what is going to make a Shawl
Collar is having the rolled part of it, this part is going to curve. As opposed to your
normal lapel that would just make a triangle, this one is softer. A Shawl Collar is, I think,
it also can be called a Roll Collar, no that's something different, but well a Roll Collar's
a little bit different, but a Shawl Collar is not a harsh, it doesn't have any harsh
lines. There's softness to it and it pretty much just folds over, there's nothing "crisp"
about it.
