I have the pleasure to drive fun cars often, ...
but this is the most bizarre one of this year.
But just-- We know the Nissan Juke.
It's a city SUV, a small thing.
Nissan showed that the GT-R drivetrain fits in a Juke.
In Russia, at Shpilli Villi (I hope I pronounce it correctly), ...
they had the same idea. They bought a Juke and a GT-R, ...
tore them apart, and this is the result.
A result with an unreal potential for speed.
A standard GT-R has, depending on its age and power, about 500 hp.
This engine has been modified to deliver, depending on the gasoline ...
(Russia has better fuel), a maximum of 838 hp.
We're driving a mere 690 hp.
Approximately, 'cause we haven't put it on a dyno yet.
What is this thing darn fast.
We did a standing start without launch control.
When it reached 2nd gear I felt like I had to slow down.
It'll go sideways in a flash. It has semi-slicks, AWD-- the lot.
There's so much power, you'll keep getting wheel spin.
This Juke-R, with the right settings, tires and asphalt ...
(maybe with some glue on the tires), you'll do 0-62 mph in 1.6 secs.
The standing mile is done in 27 point something seconds.
The quarter mile: 10 point something seconds.
Incredible how fast. Faster than a Bugatti Veyron.
In a Nissan Juke.
You'll expect me to say it's just as comfortable as a Juke, ...
but that's not the case. Nothing.
This car was built to race on Zandvoort and other tracks, ...
or to do drag races.
There's a full cage and these seats.
Very convenient with getting in and out.
There was no room left for the A/C.
Every time I put the peddle to the metal and let go again, ...
a heat wave rolls in. Incredible.
But I'm not complaining.
The most fun about this project, which started in a Russian barn ...
(might be, I wasn't there), a fun project to look at, ...
but no, you can buy this car and spec it out.
There will be street versions of the Juke-R by Shpilli Villi.
It'll cost something. You'll have to buy a Juke and a GT-R ...
and pay for the labor to make them one.
If you think it was an easy project, you're mistaken.
The GT-R has a longitudinal V6 engine.
The FWD Juke's 4-cylinder engine is transversally placed.
It's a lot of work. Driving it is fantastic, though.
This is a bumpy road, but the shocks and handling are good.
The car isn't fitful, like we saw with a number of tuning projects.
The acceleration and braking action are good, so it's great.
I would say "sign me up for one", but I don't have the money ...
to buy a Juke, let alone a GT-R and the labor ...
to change it into something this amazing.
